Both my husband and I are waking up stiff and in pain too often. Our mattress is a pillow topped one and about 5 years old. I don't think a new one is in the budget at this point. What I am considering is a foam topper.

Do you think waking up stiff is the bed or is it just being over 50?

What type of mattress do you think has a positive impact on sleep and comfort?

I got a foam topper (temperpedic) at Costco for my California King Bed, I really like it. I'm not saying I still don't get aches and pains I do, but, it is really comfie. My girlfriend and her hubbie have one and said it felt like sleeping on a cloud. It wasn't too expensive I think $175.00. Got it last year.

First of all, A Mattress usually comes with a 10-20 year warranty. If it is breaking down...call your store...or the mattress company. However, if there is ANY stains of the mattress, the warranty is void. LOL! (clever, huh?) If your box springs are only 5 years old, YOU DO NOT need new ones, only the mattress. Don't let anyone tell you different.

Better go try one out if you are considering buying a new one.

Go to the store and stay on the mattress for about an hour.

You will know after that time.

Tell the sales rep. to leave you alone for one whole hour! I often did this.

Really...LOL! I sold mattresses for a while in my past life. (very good money...I am still amazed!)
No wonder I was always in the top 3 for sales. Nobody likes a sales person who is pushy or dishonest, eh?
People seemed to always come first with me.

I won a mattress from a great firm. I picked it out myself; I loved it! My hubby did not.

He was ready to sleep on the floor.

LOL! I gave it to our son...yes, a $3,500. mattress! (Of course, I picked the very best.)

Long story, (longer,) Short...
I was compelled to put my old mattress back on the bed. It has been horrible. Last week I found a Geo-Matt Mattress topper...3.5 inches...LOL!....It is great! They even use it in many hospitals(5,000+ so far). It feels great!

My hubby and I both love it.

Trust me, I have felt all toppers, including the "memory" one. The memory one holds heat, and you must lift yourself up if you move out of your position. The Geo-Matt is worth every penny that you pay for it.

It is sold online, but you probably can find it cheaper in a local store. I found mine at JCPenneys.
