Hello all . . .I am new to posting on the board, but I have been a lurker for quite some time. I would like to first commend everyone on all the "knowledge" and helpfulness I read here. I know I am not alone in the world of finding balance. biggrin.gif

A little about my background. In 2005 I had both ovaries removed, still have my uterus. I have been on BHRT's for 3 1/2 years. All was well until the past 6 months when I began to experience heavy bleeding. I was taking a capsule of combined Bi-est 1.375 mg / Prog 75 mg once a day. Had my saliva test done and my estrogen was really high and my progesterone was really low. So they took me off the combined capsule and put me on individual creams rather than tweaking the dosage in pill form. Ever since beginning the creams I have suffered night sweats and insomnia that is driving me crazy. I am currently taking .50 mls of B-est and also .50 mls of progesterone 2x a day. I feel good during the day but at night I am miserable. I am getting conflicting info from my compounding pharmacist vs what I have researched and thought I would ask here which I should gradually increase, the E or the P? I don't want the heavy bleeding to restart so I am leary which way to go. Any suggestions?

Blessings ~ Gamme B

I can't really give you any advice, as I am having some of the same problems. I have been trying to use bioidenticals for awhile now. Most recently, I started having nightsweats and hotflashes in the evening. I haven't had that problem in a few years. I was told that the Biest was waking up receptor sites. I am supposed to keep raising it slowly, but already feel extremely bloated from the current dose and also have had trouble with heavy bleeding and don't want to go there again. I have also gained close to 10 lbs. in the2 weeks I've been using Biest! Anyway, let's hope one of the experienced girls replies! LOL smile.gif

I have slowly been backing off on my progesterone and slightly increasing my estrogen. I have read that too much progesterone will exasperate low estrogen symptons such as hot flashes and night sweats. I was able to sleep most of last night so I am going to continue for a few days to see how things go. I have also gained about 5-7 pounds, I was thinking it was from the P. So hopefully reducing the P slightly will help with the weight and the night sweats but also keep the heavy bleeding away. Like you, I hope some of the experienced gals will jump in and reply =)
