at airport right before flight. I was terrified and cancelled trip...yes I know over reaction but that is me...stess out over everything. Got in had ultrasound and then yesterday went for the Hystercopy...only problem is I have stenosis of the cervix...never had children so impossible to get the biopsy....now more worry as D and C will have to be done tomorrow in order to get it and look around. Endometrium at around 5...they like it at 4 so must proceed. Anyone had this experience? Having children certainly has some advantages in later life!!! Anyway I ihave been reading alot here...great forum....and I guess I never realized this happens...hopefully it is hormonal and that is the doctor's suspicions...we will see tomorrow.

You did the right thing. Best to have it checked out. Bleeding post menopause is one of those things you need to get checked out. I would cyber-hold your hand through it if I could!

You know this whole deal is not going well. Checked in at 7:15am for D and C. Expectation was I would be in by 9am one case before me...well at about 11 am I asked again how things were going and it seems that the first case became a very long complicated cancer surgery (don't know what the procedure was in the first place...probably not D and C) and they had to get a new team in...my surgeon was out of an OR room and none available. This is at Mayo Clinic in Rochester...found that pretty frustrating. They sent the surgeon to talk to me as he had some "free time" and he said it could be another 3-4 hours. I was at this point so nervous, sick to my stomach, hungry and had a severe headache....I decided I could not take another 3-4 hours of this stress and based on my apprehension I should be first case only...he agreed and set it up for Nov. 2 and that is okay with me. I need to spend some time thinking about something other than this situation which by all accounts is probably not a big deal but needs to be checked...it seems that the older we get or at least I get the more every little thing stresses me out...really a situation I will need to work on or life could get pretty rocky...thanks for the comments above and I'll report in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Happ1...I did report back on seperate recent post here on postmenopause board...it went great on Monday...first case and seems as though a polyp may have caused this but in any case that is gone and no cancer on initial reports which I guess are most accurate so unless some pathology comes back negative I am fine anda can now say I over reacted but this board sure helped as none of my friends had ever experienced this...but according to the doctors it is not uncommon...many times polyps but needs to be followed up for sure.
