Hi fellow palps. Kind of a sad way to say hi, but thats what I experienced last week. Had them Tuesday even til no telling when, but got up with what I call a dead heart...meaning normal heart beat. Tuesday was fine. Then started in again as I retired to bed, and when I got up the next day which was Thursday. Called a friend of mine, she knew shortly after I called I wasn't feeling good. She came over to keep me company. Its weird when your not feeling well how other things suddenly pop up in conversation. I got so stressed, I ended up throwing up. My friend was evening willing to take me to the emergancy, but I told her I needed to think about it. Then suddenly the weirdest thing happened, my heart stopped the rapid heart beat, then I felt my energy come back, then I got up, and walked around. My friend, and I looked at each other with amazement. I started jokeing a little. Sense reading about the Magnesium vitamine, I went, and purchased a bottle, and have been taking one daily like it said, and my palps had subsided. Saturday I felt the mini ones from time to time, because I was out with my Granddaughter, but did fine, so the mini palps must have been due to extra activity Saturday. I'm also taking the CoQ-10 I have a dr. app. this Thursday to see how things are going. I will let him know I don't do drugs, OR HRT crap.
Any way, was nice to fine others who have the same problem, and hope we all come out of this crapy meanopause eventually. dry.gif
Ms. Anxiety
This morning and yesterday morning I had the palps. In addition, to the high heart rate I seem to get an irregular beat. They think it may be a-fib but can't seem to capture it on heart monitors. These things are really awful. They came on when I was in the shower and made me feel quite breathless. Does anyone else feel short of breath with palps or is it just me. The funny thing is this is the 7th day of my cycle. Back in August I had a really bad day on the 7th day of my cycle. In August they had a heart monitor on me so of course no palps.

Has anyone else noticed a pattern as to when you get your palps?

Also, I often wonder what kind of palps everyone is referring to--is it just a really fast heartrate or is it some type of irregular heart rate?

Do I understand that you felt better after throwing up? If so, then your weird heart beats may be caused by GERD, a/k/a acid reflux.

I get those stupid heartbeats when I'm stressed--which aggravates my hiatal hernia, which in turn must aggravate my GERD issues. I notice I get skipped beats when I sit hunched over the computer and sometimes sitting in the car. It must be putting pressure on my abdominal area. When I stand up straight or am laying down in bed, I don't notice it near as much.

Of couse, just having these episodes increases my health anxiety. Hormones don't help either. Palps are a classic peri/meno symptom by the way.

Another thing that seems to help is calcium/magnesium. I take that at bedtime.
