Yeah, here we go! Now, I know I've been posting a lot this past week, about this supposed IBS problem, or ovarian problem.......i can't really tell. I've had all the SIMILAR symptoms to this before, but not for this long, or this bad.
IT's on the left side, well, lower left side of my abdomen, and now..... it's become this ache down in the groin area, as well as in that fold, where the leg meets your torso, and somewhat down the left thigh. Yes, I am seeing my dr. this week, but, in the meantime, I'd like to know if this could be a PRE-period problem? Since peri started full swing about 3 yrs. ago, i've had all sorts of crazy, wild, scary symptoms all over, along with lower left abdominal "pains" and aches ...... so, I'm not really sure as to what this would be . It's as if, the left groin area, (the left pubic bone area) feels tender, or "sore", and now, when i exhale, it can kind of send a bit of a pain down there. This is driving me nuts! The ache down the left leg isn't BAD, but it's there, ... i'd have to say that, mainly, it's the weird sort of "ache", or "pain" that is lodged in the very lower left abdomen....

i am due to get my period any day now, so I wonder if this could be the problem. I've noticed that since peri started, the two weeks before my period, (which would be now) can be hell! That seems to be when i get all sorts of painful, weird symptoms, anywhere. I have also noticed, that during those two weeks to my period, I get all bloated, but this is yet the newest symptom, which is that ache/heaviness/pain .... in the VERY lower left abdomen, and into the groin now!

does anyone here get this before their period? I also notice, that when I'm laying down for a while, it doesn't hurt.....but, once i'm up, and walking around for about 5 minutes, it's starts ..... so, the other day i did a little experiment, i got up, walked into the kitchen, and sure enough, that lower abdominal/groin ache, (and left leg ache) starts..........so, i propped up my left leg on the counter, bent at the knee, and just stood on my RIGHT leg ..... just to see if that would aleviate the pain in the lower left abdomen and groin ..... bec. it almost felt as if someting was "pulling" down on the inside of the lower left abdomen,......well, sure enough, propping my left leg up and only standing on the right for about 5 minutes....helped! The ache in the lower left abdomen and groin, stopped.......now of course, i had to eventually stand up on it again, bec. within about 5 min.s of standing on my right leg only...was making that leg hurt now.........but, ok, i wonder if that is indicitive of something?!!! my husb. seems to think i may have pulled or strained a muscle swimming..... maybe it's pelvic floor dysfunction ...........

anybody out there get anything like this? thanks ladies!

Yep, sure do. About a week, week and half, I feel pain in the abdomen area, also my left, the majority of the time. A real heaviness just before starting and during my period. Pain can be so bad prior that I can hardly walk, with my wondering if it is ciatic nerve. It disapates and feels better once I have my period. During the time before hand, it does ease when sitting or lying down. I had spoken with mother and she had cramps down her legs, didn't think that was possible, but mom never would speak otherwise, from her experience, which I now experience. I have had all checked, and good results, just a part of it all. Hang in there, and you are not alone.

Hi Belinda ...... oh thank you for posting! now....you didn't mention having pain/aches down in the groin .... or that fold where the leg meets the torso ..... I am not trying to be pesty, but I get so freaked out wiht all this, and you just know, i am thinking the worst!!!!! When you get this pain, is this sort of an ache, or stabbing, shooting, ????? I also get the extreme heaviness feeling in there too, which really feels like gravitiy is literally pulling my body down to the floor! You mentioned that the pain can be so bad, you have a hard time walking, which is sort of where i am at, but the pain in the lower left abdomen and groin, isn't so bad i can't walk, but, it IS definatley THERE, and bothersome,...i mean, i can't stand up long at all....i also have to sit down carefully, or it seems to feel sore in in the abdomen..... I can also get this ache/burning feeling in there when sitting down, but mainly when standing and walking..... so, you get this ache/pain in your groin and leg as well? It's almost as though my groin (left side) feels sore..... and now, when I exhale, I get this sort of little pain there, hard to describe...............

listen, thank you for replying ............ i hope other women will post as well ........... thanks everyone!
msgb
I have that heaviness or ache in my left side when my period is due. It is a pain quite literally. I have notices though if I up the amount of magnesium that I take it will sort of go away. Also another thing to add is the acidophilis (or the good bacteria that is found in yogurt).

Yes I also get all this type of pain in groin, down leg and abdomen, also lower back, walking or even getting up from a standing position hurts!! I always seem to have a cyst on ovary when this happens, so you might need an ultrasound, they can be very painful!!I also think that sometimes it's the ovary trying one last attempt to ovulate, just had all this pain and everything was ok ,Dr. said I had a small cyst and one looked like it had burst, which causes the pain in the abdomen, I'm noe taking bio's Estrogen and a little progeserone to see if this helps!! Hope this helps..feel better soon:-) Cari

hi guys.....thank you all!!!!!!! OK......m5qb, and Cari..... does the pain go away once you've started your period? Cari......do the cysts vanish? Also.......does it feel like i COULD be gas? I mean, this is strange,.... i know i have IBS ...but this IN A WAY, sort of feels like gas too .... along with that other lousy ache ........... when you get those cysts cari, do you get more gas, do you have any indigestion problems during this time? Do you guys notice that it can feel better for a while, and then...here we go again?!!!! I also notice that if i lay on the couch, with my hair dryer propped up on the back of the couch so that it hits my lower back, where the ache tends to be,,,that also helps............have you guys tried that?

thanks ladies!!!!!

Hi Mydarling, this sounds alot like endometriosis, the hyperestrogenism of perimenopause seems to irritate this. Trista5

Hey, how you feeling this morning? Glad to see you went to doctor, helps ease some stress. Yes, I feel pain, sharp stabbing in the groin and the area of fold of leg. Matter of fact, the pain in groin is where I think a lot of pressure is, almost as if my uterus is going to fall out. Girl I am with you right now as we speak. Felt it coming on yesterday. Pain in the lower left abdomen, which is shooting little pains into the groin area, lower back is aching (that is where a lot of bothersome pain is). Had night sweats all night long. Have slight body ache too. Now sometimes I feel sore, as you said, well almost all the time, skin is very sensitive too, can hardly stand to be touched. Hang in there.

It sounds like the psoas muscle tightening up. Mine gets like that during certain times of the month. You might find some info online about it - there are stretches you can do that help...

I'm sorry I missed your ? to me...I had uterus removed so I can't tell but it's probably related to period pain since there's still an ovary in there! I always get back and pelvic excrutiating pain when I have a cyst, I alternate w/ ice and heating pad can barely walk recently it hurt so much, and I was on a cruise!!! Hopefully we will stop getting these horrible cysts!!
