So every month like clock work I had my periods around the 8th of the month for quite awhile, Then in June is switched and went to the 25th, last month I had it on the 21st then this month it came on the 15th, and what hell this one has been. I have no patients and am angry. Angry at nothing and everything. The day my period started I swore I was coming down with the flu. Had no idea it was coming until the cramping started.

But this month has been weird all the way around there were days when I felt like I was gonna start. but didn't. I would heat up and get so dang hot. I have just not felt good. I mean I can function and do what I need to do. I just do not feel well.

I just turned 46 in Sept. My doc says that it is all hormones. I do not like feeling so angry and aggravated all the time. does this stop? If it is better once your periods stop.......well then I want them to stop.

thanks for reading

Hi DanaRae,
Unfortunately, yes, this all sounds pretty normal for peri. I could have written your post with only a couple very minor differences and I would venture to say, there are a bunch of others on PS who can say the same. One thing that strikes me as maybe good news is that your symptoms came on and have begun to "evolve" rather rapidly. I could be wrong but I would take that as a sign your time in peri might not last as long as some of us who have had a long, slowly evolving sentence. Ladies, anyone have any ideas on this??? My symptoms came on so slowly and "under the radar" that I just thought I was "more tired than usual" or it was because I was "unhappy in my marriage"...anything but what I now know it was, the dreaded onset of perimenopause! Little did I know it would be a long and very difficult period in my life, much worse than my teen years ever were. All I can do is tell you to read and educate yourself on peri symptoms and what you can do about them. Come to PS, there are so many lovely and intelligent women here who will offer great insight. And try to keep a positive mindset, this is only the end of one phase of your life but also the beginning of another. Hopefully your transition will be relatively smooth!

Hi DanaRae,
Just to say I also have been having a month of "just not feeling good" as you say Functioning but not feeling well.

Seem to have a heap of symptoms bundled together, and emotionally like a Roller coaster that can unbelievably change from minute to minute.

Hope you start feeling a little better soon.

Take care

I certainly understand how you are feeling. I have to say peri is the suckiest ride I have ever been on. Just remember to hang onto the good days while going through the bad.

Hi DanaRae, . .yes, this is very normal for peri ... i've had the same thing, and just like you, i feel very aggravated most of the time, it's really depressing, but that can change from day to day too. If it's not one symptom, it's another, just hang in there, we are all in the same boat here .... smile.gif

Welcome to peri, DanaRae; smile.gif
Wacky periods were my very first symptom. Unfortunately, peri can go on for years. My periods became more frequent over a five year span of time. Now, they are starting to swing out further apart. There are some good books out there to read- The new edition of "Our Bodies, Ourselves" has a good section on menopause. Suzanne Somers has a book called "The Sexy Years", which is also pretty good.

Hang in there, and visit here...I've found this forum to be a great source of both comfort and information.

Hi there,

I will be 46 in a few months and I feel like you smile.gif.

Before I hit 45, I felt a little annoyed and stressed out 3 or 4 days before my period, but now - OMG I feel like I am someone else! I am upset and frustrated weeks before periods and days after; if I am lucky I get a few normal days every month. Even though I exercise regularly and eat well, I feel pretty much constantly angry, everything irritates me, I hate my sudden forgetfulness and worsening memory, ohh and I forgot to mention the ever-present anxiety that I cannot shake off. Etc.

I am really glad I stumbled upon this forum because I felt like I was the only one losing it smile.gif.

Like you I turned 46 in September.
Oh my period is ending yesterday and I feel like a wet dishrag today. I just wish I could get my energy up.
I am just a sad sack to be around as well.
Like you also I have no patience for anything. I am just not in a good mood. I had to tell my husband that I just am in a mood. For all my trying I can not get out of it.
