I have nodules on thyroid and I am hyperthyroid which has been controlled for the last several years by tapazole 5mg every other day. Doc seems to think that the nodules and hyper are 2 separate issues. The nodules have not changed at all since they were discovered but there are 6. Two endocrinologists have recommeded surgery to remove the thyroid. Tapazole has potential side effects but I ahve not had any.
Has anyone dealt with same and willing to share her experience? Has anyone taken tapazole for an extended period? If you had surgery what can I expect? I know - lots of questions but I just need soem basis of comparison. Thanks

My husband was hyper for years and on tapazole and did well then suddenly went extremely opposite and was put on a diff med...NOW he is back to being hyper and back on tapazole. Doc is thinking it may be time for the iodine pill...It's getting harder and harder for him to control this. He is so so thin.
