Hi, my name is Leah. My mother was a regular PS contributor and friend to a number of you on this site, she passed away in February this year aged in her early 50's.

I have come on here today not in a desire to frighten anyone, but just as a big plea to you all to please, please, please make sure you get your regular check ups. My mummy believed herself to be perimenopausal she had all of the signs and symptoms that she read on here that many ladies experience, however in her case it was not menopausal symptoms she was experiencing, it was symptoms associated with cervical cancer. Alot of the symptoms mimic each other.

Please all of you, do not rely too much on the things you read and what other people are experiencing because every person is individual. Please if you are worried about anything that may be going on with your body, see your doctor and if he/she doesn't give you satisfactory answers go to someone else. Please do it early and don't let anymore women go in the horrific manner my mummy did.

Blessings to you all. Leah x

Leah,

Thank you so much for speaking up.......and I am deeply sorry for the loss of your mum......must have been terribly frightening for all of you......she will be missed by all of us here.....

When I was dx peri, the first thing my gynea did, was give me a pap smear.......even though I HATE them, he was adamant.....

So thank you again.......your warning and thread is very important.......for all of us.

Much love, caring and hugs to you in this time.....

Leah, so saddened to hear about your Mom. You are very thoughtful to let us know this, especially during what would be a difficult time for you.

Thanks also for jolting us into the realisation that we do need to keep vigilant at this time in our lives. That is a timely reminder to us all.

Your Mum would be very proud of you.

Sending you love and blessings,

((((HUGS)))

Remy
