Hi all;
I have been on bhrt for one week now. All I can say is WOW! I went on bio-identical hormones because of loss of libido, although I had multitudinous other meno symptoms. From the first night I applied my creams, I have not had a single hot-flash or night sweat, and my libido has returned to what it was a few yars ago...all in one week! I'll keep up-dating here.

that's great news...what are you taking?.....are you working with a bio-d doctor?....a friend of mine is has just taken a bunch of blood tests with a bio Dr. and is getting ready to supplement - her libido is also low (heck, mine has been low for about 5 years now!)......which hormones were showing out of whack and by how much - just interested as I may go and seek out a bio Dr. too!

Hi Caz...
I was low on everything. My bio Doc put me on a modest amount of estradiol, testosterone and progesterone. The progesterone was in pill form, but upset my stomach. As a result, I'm taking the capsules apart and squeezing out the oily progesterone and applying it topically. The estradiol and testosterone are in cream forms. Once my doc figures out what a good balance is (I'm going back in December), the testosterone and estradiol can be combined into one cream base together. I'm really grateful that I responded this quickly and this well. smile.gif

Ann,

If I were you, I would be careful about combining both creams into one. I keep my creams seperate, because if you need to tweak any of the dosage, you can't if they are combined. Just a thought to keep in mind. I have been on the bio's for a few years and at times I have to back off the T cream, as it can be too much.

Hello - I'm new to this site and I have to say that it has been an oasis in a desert. My PVC's drive me to distraction, I'm crying all the time (for unprovoked reasons), I feel fluttery inside.....I came across your post and wanted to ask you if these creams are formulated by your own doctor, or is there someone here on Power Surge who can do it? I think I am deficient in some of these things. Can you help me to understand?
Juliann
Hi Lynn,

These are called bioidentical hormones. They can come in different forms, like gels, creams and pills. They are given by prescription only and are filled at the pharmacy. If they are creams, then it has to be a compounding pharmacy that can make the creams.

In the past hormones were given out as HRT, which was the old premarin/provera. The newest thing is the bio's and that is what many of us have tried. They are still hormones and you need to realize that not enough is known about them to be considered completely safe, kinda like the pill, there could be a down side to them as well.

If you need more info, you can contact "Pete H." on this site, or check with your own doctor. Many doc's, if you ask them about BHRT, their eyes will glaze over, so I found that I had to educate myself and then go to my doctor and ask for what I wanted to try.

Good luck.

LOL! the 24 hour CURE for menopause! It was that fast for me. I have been on bios since Jan. I still feel great! Alls I needed was my hormones replaced. I have not had one migraine headache either. I had almost All of the meno symptoms.

Just wait...it gets better. Within 1 month, I noticed that my skin changed for the better. My eyelashes are as long as any teens. LOL!

Hi Juliann;
What you say makes a lot of sense. I've been told that too much T can cause irritability, acne and some other unpleasant side effects. I think I'll keep it separate for just such an occasion.

My gosh, isn't it amazing? I was having night sweats nearly every night for years, and hot flashes (in the day) had been kicking in lately...since that very first night, no more sweating! I can't wait to see what other changes I'll have. If anybody had told me I'd have that much change, that quickly, I wouldn't have believed it. biggrin.gif

Dear Ann61: that is good news, you are lucky it worked that fast for you, usually takes 3 to 5 days on the short end of time. Don't know what pharmacy you purchased it from, but we do fill all compounded hormone RX's and also ship everywhere.
Great news!
