So today, I worked all day in a house without heat 51 degrees. I bundled up. About an hour into the ride home, the right side of my face got really hot and red, then the ears, then the hands, then the left side, I was hot for 45 minutes. It was odd and annoying. I have been off bcp's for 5 weeks now and this is the first of this in a really long time. I have been getting lots of night sweats too. I never got hot enough to sweat though, just really warm. Anyone ever feel this way?

MY first hot flash lasted over an hour. But mine didn't set off a limb at a time. I just broke out in a river of sweat and stayed that way.

my flashes last this long and sometimes an hour, sometimes shorter.......always seem to start with a off feeling and wooziness, next palp's and the very fast wave of heat all through my body, these 2 symptoms usually come together or very close, then the weakness....my face and ears will burn and feel very hot and be red along with upper chest flushing ....while this happens my hands and feet go ice cold and I can shiver while still burning up...I don't know whether to find a snow bank or throw on a blanket, they can last 5 minutes or it seems over an hour. I really never sweat during these day flashes, but also have night sweats where I do end up soaked. HUGS Mikki

i also experience long durations of hot flashes and subsequently get freezing cold, i don't know why it scares me so much yet it does, and i shiver, while being soaked and wait til it all settles down.

Thank you for your answers. I know in my clear mind I am fine, but, when things like this hit, it makes me worry. The first two or three weeks off bcp's were good, no difference, but last week and this one, the night sweats and just plain old feeling hot all the time is annoying. My hands and face always get warm. One time I was at the doctors for a sinus infection and felt really warm, he touched my hands and said, yes, you are warm, but my temp. was 98. I am happy the weather is getting cooler, the summer is brutal with hot flashing. In the winter I generate enough of my own heat, I could cure global warming on my own!!!!
