I'm on day two of my Pristiq trial and the jury is still out. Some insomnia last night even after taking it in the am. Some brain zaps and stinging sensation in the face and legs (strange). Feel sleepy but mind seems restless. Would love to hear from others who are using or tried Pristiq. How are you doing with it and how long did it take some of the side effects to diminish? Thanks,

Judy

Pristiq is just like Effexor taking the place of it, usually sideeffects can last up to a week or more, but if your getting brain zaps, I,d let your MD know, tingling could go for awhile I,d call your Pharmasist or MD if It cont. (check your E mail)

I woke up a lot at first but that wore off after about a week or two. The only weird side effect at all that I had was feeling tense in the morning.

Can I ask how you are feeling now on this med. I was on Lexapro and although I was feeling ok on Lexapro, really helped with anxiety and obsessive health anxiety, I just wasn't motivated at all. My Dr. gave me a month's worth of Pristiq to try. I took one but I'm nervous about it. I have the face tingles and a bit of sleepliness not enough to sleep though just sluggish, cotton head feeling. Are you finding it helpful and in what ways. Thank you.

If you have any info on Pristiq I would love to hear about it. I was RX'd it today by my Dr. he gave me a month's worth to try. I was on Lexapro which wasn't bad it did great for anxiety and obsessive thinking however I was very unmotivated on it. Was on it for 3 months. I just took one today did not wean off Lexapro just went straight to the Pristiq. I feel a little sluggish and strange, no head zaps, a little face tingles. Hope I can sleep, I need my sleep. I don't feel full on anxiety, maybe a little though, could be my imagination because I am nervous about taking another new med. This is my third, first was Prozac. I hope that if this doesn't work I will be able to go back to Lexapro, sometimes I hear that effectiveness is not the same when you go off an AD and then try to go back on. Thanks for any input. Mich

Just in case anyone wants to know about Pristiq. I will post how I am doing on it.

Day 4 on Pristiq -- Not too bad. Smidge of butterflies like you get when you drink coke or coffee. Extremely slight headache. A little bit of edginess at night. Stay up late, sleep in late. Nothing too unbearable as of yet, I hope it continues to get better.
