Hi all,
I've been going through peri and have the most horrible "hots" all the time. In addition I seem to have totally lost my appetite due to nausea and now I have the shakes almost constantly. I think they are both internal and "external" ie; I can see my hands shaking if I pour a drink or something - I'm a medical typist and have also become dyslexic on the keyboard (NOT a good thing!!).
I'm currently scheduled for a glucose tolerance test but does anyone else have the external shakes as well as the inner buzz? I'm scared I have parkinsons or something equally horrible.
When I force myself to eat it doesn't seem to help - the shaking is still there and it's become pretty much 24/7. I'm getting to the stage I can't stand it.
My sister had estrogen dependent breast cancer and now has terminal cancer (secondary from breast cancer in her liver, lungs and spine) - so I am not really a good candidate for HRT. Any ideas anybody? I swear I am going NUTS. I just feel so vile all the time. I thought feeling hot and sweaty most of the time would be the worst but I do think the shaking is even more horrible. Thanks all. God bless. Mishk.

I too have been experiencing the internal shaking, mostly at night when I wake up in the middle of the night, I'll feel my insides vibrating. It lasts for about 10-20 second and then stops. But lately I've noticed my hands are visibly shaking and the other day when I went to pick up a cup, I felt as though I couldn't keep a grip on it and it was shaking pretty bad. That lasted pretty much all day. Now, I have to tell you that with peri my anxiety has also risen and I just started on an AD, which may be the cause, I don't know. But I too have been thinking the worst - Parkinsons, MS, the list goes on.
With what is happening with your sister,(and an am really sorry to hear that - I lost my sister to cancer a little over a year ago), you are under a lot of stress. The stress and anxiety that goes along with having a family member with terminal cancer is sometimes more than what we think it is at the time it is happening. Could all of this be playing a part in the fact you have been so shaky?
If you haven't seen your doctor about this, maybe that should be the first place you start. It probably is stress, but you want to be sure and rule out anything else. He may give you something to help calm you down.
I wish you the best.

hi Mishkins,
I am really sorry to read about your problems and your sister. I have been going through a lot of symptoms myself for the past few weeks that seemed to get really aggravated in the past month since I learned that my dear sister-in-law had stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to the hip and brain. It has brought me in a state of total anxiety and sadness, which of course has aggravated my symptoms. I have so much twitching and tingling today that I cannot focus on anything else + it was mammogram day and anxiety brought more symptoms tingling head and buzzing since last night like I never felt. I can hardly ate and I have always been a good eater. I worry as you that I have a dreaful disease that I don't even dare writing down the names! I know how it feels. I can't stand day in and out to have all those weird things happening in my body and not being able to understand it. I believe, like Jones wrote to you, that stress and anxiety have a big part in it as I believe it does for me.
I hope thoses messages will help you somehow.
take care

Thanks above. And thanks for the care re my sister. Yes - I think anxiety might be playing a part here and perhaps low blood sugars also. I also seem susceptible to every little cold or flu that comes around and have just come down with yet another cold. This whole thing is sure no fun!!
Yes - I am seeing an endocrinologist who has a heap of tests scheduled for me - at least I will know if there is anything too bad wrong I guess. Horrible stuff!!
Thanks again - glad I am not the ONLY one!!! Mishk.
