Hi ladies:

It's been a while since I have not been here but I always look for reassurance with you my meno sis. This is what is going on. First of all for the last couple of months I have been feeling this sensations of pain in my legs especially in my veins if I touch them and they also look more notables, more blue than before. I went to the doctor and he just told me that veins becomes like that with age blink.gif and to make sure he order some blood test that of course came out that everything was just fine. So even though I was worried I assume it was another peri symptom and tried to cope with it. But yesterday the same thing happened but in my left arm especially around the elbow and my vein actually got king of bigger and very painful for a moment and it was so notable that my husband also notice how different was the vein. The pain went away but last night the pain came back and I still have it this morning. Let me mention that I can see like little spider veins in my arm where the pain is. My question is, have anyone of you feels this, or is it me, or should I visit the Doctor again even though he will not see a thing. I also need to mention that my hands have been numb or tingling for the past month, have been also feeling pain in my joints , could this be related to my period wich I am expecting any moment this week. Please anyone , I need answers I feel or either am losing it or I am going to die from a clog. Please help.

I have noticed that when I see a new spider vein, especially in my legs, that it can hurt to touch. But eventually it gets better. I think wearing good supportive shoes helps prevent the veins and then make them more bearable once they appear. Some people get the spider veins removed because they are so painful.

Hang in there!

Casuja - Wow! you describe exactly how my veins have been feeling / looking since the begining of this year. Mainly my legs and my hands. You are right they really hurt when a new spider vein appears. I didn't go to my Dr about them because at the time I was always visiting the Dr for one sympton or another and I felt like they thought I was a nuisance! so I just asked the ladies on here what they thought - it seems to be a common occurence when we age.

Hugs

Jackie: Does the same thing happens to you in your arm veins? Ifeel like crap today, I can't wait 'til my period comes, this is horrible. Last night I had a terrible panic attack, felt I couldn't breathe, felt I was going to die and everything because I am panicking for my veins especially the one in the left arm. But if anyone sees it you would not see a thing, not swollen, not red, not hot or cold, nothing. I feel like I am going crazy, I feel like a hipocondriac. I bursted last night into tears, I just can't stand this anymore. Even now while I am writing I have to stop to rest my hands because of the numbness. I just don't know what else to do. Please any advise, anyone

I have had them in my arm too, one bulging one that did hurt and ache - but they are mainly in my legs and hands now.
I'll send you a pm.

Hi Casuja ...... no, you're not going to die! This is quite normal, and i've had EVERYTHING you mentioned. I can well remember, when my veins did the exact same thing, i was terrified! Just like you, my dr.said...it was no big thing, and to expect this with age and peri.....well, on one hand, i was releived, and on the other hand I thought for sure he didn't really get a close enough look, or maybe, he just didn't FULLY understand what I was saying! UGH! But, it was true....it was just another peri symptom, like all the rest you mentioned. Just yesterday, the top of my left leg, on the outer thigh, was numb ..... it was so strange! At first, I felt very panicky, but then I realized........peri!!!! Today, it's back to normal.

This is a very scary ride for most of us, but don't worry, you are not alone...and you're certainly not dying! smile.gif

Casuja .......... I wanted to add here, that I have definately had the vein in the arm thing, like you. Yes, it would hurt, and feel like it was bulging, but nobody else could see it. I kept running around the house, asking everyone to look at my arm....it was the vein on the inside of the arm, where they take blood.....is that the vein you're talking about? Yes, it can really ache.....and those spider veins!!!!! OH MY ....yes, they do ache, especially when some new ones appear ..... Casuja, you are alright ..... it's hormonal. smile.gif

Thanks a lot ladies for your reply, My Darling it is sure very scary, I also go around the house asking eveyone if they can see anything in my arm. Today will be the fourth day feeling this pain, it will come and go, and when it comes it gives me such an anxiety. It is in my left arm and that is what scares me the most. My period is trying come down, I am just spotting a tiny little bit and I am hoping the bothersome symptom in my left arm will go away as soon I get my period or so. Why does this happens? Why do we have to go through so many pains and anxiety and depressions and stress and lack of feeling and lack of desire to do whatever and even to love your husband. My kids looks at me like, well here she goes again with something new. This is not an easy road to take. How many more symptoms, when is it going to end or even get better. What else to expect.

Have you ladies also had the pain in the arm for days, is it my period. When do we know when is something serious and we should go to the hospital. I am so tired of going to the doc and he sure looks at me like if I am crazy, imagining symptoms or illnesses.

Thank you ladies,

Casuja

This is happening to me right now....mostly on the inside of my knees....but sometimes on my arms, hands and feet. The veins are puffy and swollen and painful on my hands. On my legs I just feel a weird pain and when I look at the spot where the pain in, the vein is bluer than the others and sensitive to touch. it comes and goes....I can go weeks without it, but then it comes back. I can't tie it my cycle yet, but I've only had one period since I had my baby 4 1/2 months ago so who knows. Aunt Flo is currently a week late....who knows when she will arrive this time? She now has a mind of her own smile.gif I've had every test known to man and they are all clear and my doctor said this could happen with peri...especially the swollen veins in the hands (I guess they swell everywhere but are more noticable in the hands and feet becuase there isn't much fat there) so I'm telling myself it's just hormones...AGAIN!!!

hello Casuja,
I have had bulging veins for the past 10 years (I am 52). Never worried about it as my mom was worse than any of her daughters and she is still alive. She used to be in pain every day. It is part of peri but also of poor circulation. I also now have developped pain in my joints and some days it is so painful that my hands feel weak. Tingling in extremeties is very common in peri. I have had it now since last May. It is better now since I take Cymbalta. I have developped now spider veins every where on my legs, arms, even tiny one on my face. My feet are blue from spider veins. Not to worry about a clog. If you are really concerned, add fish oil to your diet and take a vitamin E (unless you are taking medication to prevent clotting then you should ask your doctor if it is ok to add vitamin E) it will help to thin your blood.
don't worry and take care
