I have had this pain on and off for years. Pain in between and on my ribs...like someone is pinching me in the side. It is NOT gallbladder pain b/c I have no gallbladder. I do have endometriosis but I have no idea if it can be up on my ribs like this. The pain is constant but then it will go away for long periods of time...and then come back months later. I have some pain on both sides but mainly in my left side. Sometimes is becomes a dull pain and almost a numbness. It causes me to want to go around pinching the skin on my ribs and underneath my ribs. Hurts when I lean over and scrunch up (like bending over tying shoes for my kids) or last night it hurt when I laid on my side and put my elbow under my head while I was reading. I felt like something inside was ripping apart...or just really really tight.
Anybody else know this pain?
I've had chest x-rays recently...showed nothing. All my blood work has been fine too.
I get this, too. ....kinda a dull ache off and on. At first I thought it was my heart. LOL! (peri/meno ideas) LOL! I worried about this for years off and on.
Anyway, I have started trying to remember what I did before this starts. I am beginning to think that I pull something inside due to exercise or lifting, or etc. ...almost like a mild sprain. I think that it is a slight inflammation.
It might be slight gastritis....
costochondritis???....This is the inflammation of the cartilage which connects the ribs to the sternum. Basically, an injury is causing the ribs to pull away from the sternum. It takes a while to heal up. (This is my bet, but instead of the sternum it is between the ribs.
I think we just have a pulled muscle. This happens to a lot of people. It takes some time to heal...and just when we start healing up, we pull something again.
Ok...we know that we are not going to die from this, otherwise, we would have already been dead.Take 2 aspirin and call me in the morning. LOL! (I'm kidding you, but it does work.)
....LOL! I noticed that when I do take a low dose aspirin, the pain stops. I think it is because the aspirin reduces the inflammation.
I hope this helps,
Shebee
