Hi Everyone,
Has anyone else noticed a marked increase in dreaming (for those of you who actually sleep at night - lol!) ?
I have been dreaming a lot more and the content of my dreams is SO vivid and SO detailed and SO wierd!!! I feel like I'm starring in an independent film every night.....
Anyone? Anyone?
hugs,
Cynthia

when I had to take mass doses of hormones for anti miscarriage treatments during pg, it was when I started taking the prometrium that I had the wildest dreams, read somewhere that progesterone does interesting things, like creating vivid dreaming, reducing sex drive, and creating nesting behavior! and for me it was true. I only wanted to bake on the days I was taking prometrium! and stay close to home, cook, be with family etc.

Okay I WANT your dreams!! The last dream I had I was being pushed around the grocery store by my husband......I was naked and he sat me in the front.....all I could see was my pudgy legs hanging through the leg slots. Now who can top this?????? lmao.

That is hysterically embarassing to be EVEN IN A DREAM pushed around naked in a shopping cart, oh that had me roaring.
I always dream, but yes, the last 8 months they have become quite bizarre and vivid, the sleep paralysis comes and goes, but I can see people so clearly, the pores on their nose, feel their breath on my face, the smell of fresh air from their clothes ... it goes from wonderful (seeing my Mom again) to horrifying to embarassing ....

In our family we always refer to fall as the Dream Season! We have noticed, for many years now, that everybody seems to experience much more vivid dreams during fall than at any other time of year.

Yes! These dreams are about to drive me crazy. I have always dreamed, but really did not remember them very well. However, now, they are SO vivid and bizarre and I have so many of them during the same night. Seems like I am always traveling somewhere too and they usually have family members who I have not seen in ages in them. Wish I knew what causes this increase in bizarre dreams during peri. Also, they seem to be worse right before I awaken. Have any of you "carried" your dreams around the rest of the day.... kinda like you are still in them???

interesting....I have been dreaming up a storm seemingly all night long. It's like I am watching a movie--I follow the whole dream. I donm't just remember snatches...
I chalked this up to being on an SSRI, but are the rest of you having such vivid dreams just due to peri?

I am not on any SSRIs or ADs but have always had dreams, but am not peri either, full heading into meno with no period since feb. 2009 ... but the dreams are certainly taking bizarre twists ... why just last night ... I mean I woke up early this morning trying to figure THAT ONE OUT!!!! My goodness. I mean they are so VIVID, I could even see the poison ivy on my rt. lower leg I got this summer that is just barely still there ... and yes, it IS like a movie, I am in it, but also WATCHING IT ... whew.

I am joining the club, I finally slept the whole night and ended up having a dream about my xh who came back in my life after years, and tried to argue more over money !!! lol it was very vivid. he threw my wedding ring down in the grass, and I could see it sparkling there and grabbed it. lol sigh
and before that I dreamed I was at church and I passed out, and had to be propped up in a pew! huh?

... at least they propped you up in that pew !!!! ... but yes, you can see everything, the blades of grass, ring sparkling, the vividness and colours are amazing, you can feel what you are touching - is it our memories we are processing (but in my dream last night i have never touched this person) or are wild imaginations at work ... ?? talk about out of body experiences. i even have recurring dreams from my 20's with this house ... it tries to fool me, and it takes on a different look or location, and i am IN the house, casually going through empty room to empty room, then to beautiful rooms and secret doors and then it hits me IT IS THAT HOUSE AGAIN, but i have to stay calm, and get OUT before the house knows I KNOW I AM THERE, i have jumped out of windows, all kinds of things to get out of that house. haven't had that dream in about 13 years ... and hope i never do again, it is very sinister.

As an old friend of mine from Amsterdam once said "WHAT IS NORMAL" ... we are all just on different adventures. I do envy people who can nap, who have lovely long sleeps, and who say "oh I never dream" ... and these dreams lately are so real, I often think they KNOW and are thinking "oh my goodness what was SHE doing in my dream" ... sigh. It is confusing. But aren't you glad when you do wake up scared to know you are safe, and can do some "self-talk" to calm down? I have trying training myself to think of certain people or subjects to calm me down and force myself to. Last night just as I was drifting off, nicely, my cat Oliver who was purring like an outboard motor - very soothing - decided to WALK RIGHT OVER ME to visit Joe ... woke me up. DARN.
