Looks like a total con to me.
I suppose it will be a book trying to sell HRT because other than taking hormonal replacement there is no other way to prevent the effects of menopause.
I don't not think that anyone would be silly enough to buy it or would they?
I always think it is sad when greedy and uncaring companies prey on the suffering of menopausal women................

Lets just hope that this is not as ugly as it appears.......................

Hi sweet,

Sorry to say, but never have I heard of preventing menopause........they speak of it as if it is a virus that needs inoculation!

There is a reason why we go through menopause.......and I worry about the effects of "preventing" a natural process.......even if feels nothing like natural wink.gif

I am VERY suspicious of the wording.......I am all for dealing with the symptoms as best we can......but to think we can prevent it? I find that ideology quite dangerous....

Sorry for being so negative.......but that kind of talk frightens me a bit.......you cannot prevent nature......we are not dealing with pathological disease.

Thanks for sharing babe......

I actually went on Amazon and read a few pages of the book. The premise sounds logical. Our ovaries are failing way before our life- spans which have gotten longer. It may be something worth research. She states that it is normal as we age that our eggs age and eventually decrease. Her question is why aren't the ovaries functioning on a different level enough to keep us from feeling so crappy. Just because our fertility is diminished why is our quality of life diminished as well. Is there a way to keep the ovaries functioning even at a lower level without being fertile? Let us keep the use of our ovaries so that we can still reap the benefits in a different way. She says if any other organ in our body was failing something would be done, why isn't it the same with our ovaries. It seems like when we have problems our choices are take em out or accept whatever comes as they wither up and become wrinkled grapes. Certainly ideas worth thinking about in my opinion. I'm no doctor so I couldn't tell you the viability of such thinking. But, it sure would be nice wouldn't it?
