does anyone ever get dizziness, for no apparent reason? I'm more used to the off balance, lightheaded thing....but today, for no reason, I became quite dizzy ..... not lightheaded, but DIZZY! This lasted a few hours, I had to take a Benadryl, because I also got somewhat of a sinus headache/pressure, and i've found out from before, that Benedryl seems to help with the lightheaded feeling.....well, it didn't this time. I also got very tired, so I slept for a few hrs....when I woke up, I still felt "off", somewhat dizzy, but mainly weird, lightheaded,,,,and VERY VERY DETATCHED from reality .....

I wasn't sure if this was the right forum for this ..... but, it seemed to be. Thanks girls .......... smile.gif

Hi
I've been getting the spinning dizzies for years still get scared its something serious even after scans an all sorts of tests. I take stugeron which help me a lot, used to take stemetil but they give me migraine. Just rest if you can and try not to do too much reading or tv also being on the computer can set it off or make worse. Hope you feel better soon.

Have you checked your progesterone level? As we get older, our levels drop and that can be related to dizziness.

I don't get dizzy as much as it's a pre-dizzy feeling. Sometimes, it's during stressful times. Sometimes, who kows. I have found that most of the time, exercising gets rid of it. Of course, when you are spinning, you sure don't want to go walk, but what I have found with menopause - it's like the weather in Florida - if you don't like this, wait a minute because it will change. Meno symtoms seem to be the same - once you think you've gotten rid of one (or gotten use to one), another one appears to replace it. Good luck - by the way, you've found the right forum, the girls on this site are lifesavers.

It probably from the sinus cold could be in your ears.Ginger is good for that. You can get dried ginger or fresh and make tea.I have "Gravol"[motion sickness]ginger chews for nausea or light headedness. Also make sure your having lots of water especially if you have night sweats.I am starting to have some of my husbands electrolite powder in it to replace minerals I loose when I sweat.Hope you get your sea legs soon!

I experienced a 3 hr. episode of vertigo (the room was swimming every time I moved) a couple of years ago, er doc thought this could be a virus or my thyroid.

The very same thing happened to me about four years ago and scared the crap out of me. I don't know how, why, or what caused it, but I was so dizzy, even when I closed my eyes, I could feel the room spinning. It lasted about three hours and just as quickly as it started, it stopped. Now, if I feel a little twinge of dizziness, I get nervous that it will happen again.

I've been getting the dizzies lately alot! I have to keep looking down....if I look up it makes it worse. I wonder if it isn't a sinus thing....even though I've never had sinus trouble before. It is scary and I think it triggers anxiety.

I think that low iron can cause this as well. We all need to keep tabs on our ferritin levels.

If you have sinus issues then it may be your inner ear, my hubby had this a few years ago he thought he was going to pass out he had no pain just very dizzy, when they checked him he had an inner ear infection, your nose eyes and ears are all connected, I was similiar when I first started going through meno I felt like I only had eyes the rest of me didn't exist, I kept telling them it felt like my ears were infected and they found nothing so it was meno for me I am sure
