I don't know. I used to pride myself on lying down and being asleep before I knew it. The last couple of months, all other "symptoms" have subsided but I have forgotten how to sleep.
Either I can't fall asleep or I do and wake up around 3am out of nowhere and can't fall back. Tossing and turning for hours sad.gif
This has really come out of the blue. When I had severe problems about 10 years ago, I spend almost 3 years of nightly sleep meds. I swore that would never happen again. My Dr always asks me if I sleep well and with a big smile I always could tell him yes.
There is only 1 or 2 nights a week that I sleep fairly well, meaning I can fall back to sleep right after waking.
AND I seem to be continually somewhat constipated...aaaaarg.
What gives? I am otherwise feeling quite well. Why does it always have to be *something*? This gets rather boring!!!!!!
Lets all go on vacation!!!!!!!

When peri hit I had trouble sleeping. Now, still in peri, I take b/hrt. For me it is the supplemental Estradiol that helps me sleep, among other symptom relief. (Tonight I'm awake due to getting ready for trip...flying thru Zurich. Will wave Hi as I go bye. lol) Also found that I had trouble with constipation when my E was low and P was high (especially just before periods). E is vasodialotor and P vasoconstrictor and also affect gut motility (hence the constipation when P is too high or E is lacking.) Anyway, sorry to ramble. Maybe try talking to your Doc. Why smile and say everything is fine? Maybe he can help in some other way. Regards, JZZ

Smiled because it WAS fine. I was always so grateful that at the end of my day, I could just lay down and sleep. I'll just wait it out till this phase goes by. They always seem to come in waves.
Where are you off to?
I'll wave back, you'll see me, the tired one with the swollen boobs lol!

I hear you sweet......

I haven never been a good sleeper.......but peri takes the cake

And the older I get, the more the lack of sleep effects me.....

I had sleep studies done before I was dx peri......

I used to fall asleep standing up at work, or throw up from fatigue......hallucinations were common......

Take care babe.......lack of sleep will bend your head....

Big Hugs,

Michah

I take whatever I need to, to get some sleep. Right now 1mg of Xanax and I still wake up most nights. If I wake up and can't get back to sleep I take another .50 and then end up sleeping until noon. I'm getting sleep but I hate having to take meds to get it. Oy!! You can't win for losing.

I think last night WOULD have been a sleep through night but....have had a terrible cough after a nasty 24hr cold last week. I've have been coughing my brains out. Woke up at 12:30 ans really think I hairline fractured a rib, coughing furiously for an hour. So between the lack nof air and sleep, I'm feeling a bit tired....but not all that bad either smile.gif
Black Cohosh seems to be keepingb me away from the edge.
I bought Chaste Tree yesterday as well. It pushed up Prog.
while black cohosh balanced estro.
Going nuts with Grenada apples as well as the juice and Aloe Vera juice. I hope that after a couple of weeks with a strong Veg/Fruit regime, I'll be in the best place possible for now!!
Somehow I will pull this together the natural way lol!
