HELLO Girls

Just need some advice please.

I have been experiencing ear problems since March this year, I do think they came with the menoapuse, am in peri at the moment.
I have had loud noises in my ear, pain,ear zaps, feeling giddy,head pain e.t.c

I have had a MRI and dopler scan but nothing was found. I went to the ENT on Friday where the doctor told me she thinks it could ne neuralgia!!
Anyway she has put me on amytriptyline 10mg for 2 months to see if they get rid of the pain.

My questions is:

I know these are anti depressants that are used for pain relief but as I have had a bad experience with them in the past and I tried differnt ones for anxiety, do you think I should start them?

I sorry to ask but I am very cautious, the doctor said do not read the leaflet that goes with them as they will put you off taking them.


Has anyone else took them for pain relief and did you get any side effectsd.

I have ear pain from tmj, I dont' know if that fits into your situation, but its a thought to look into. It makes it hard to even sleep. I use warm compresses for relief. Feel better.
