Obviously, I am new at this. I don't know if these symptoms I'm having are what hot flashes "feel" like. I am 47. First, I will mention-I am sick with a cold which I've had for the last few days. Maybe that's what's causing this? Anyhow, I was awakened about every 30 minutes last night. Every time I woke up, I would have sweat pouring down me, and feel like I just wanted to get all of my clothes off. As I am sitting here now typing, I have the same symptoms. There is so much sweat pouring off of my face, it is dripping onto my lap.The natural temperature in the room right now is 78 degrees (no heat or A/C on). So for those of you who've haad the hot flashes, is this what it feels like? Any advice is appreciated. sad.gif

Hi Legal:

Welcome to PS. Yep sounds like a hot flash to me.
I am sorry that there is no advice on staying cool during this time except that putting an icepack on your neck might help a little.
I have night sweats almost every single night and most of the time I wake drenched. This usually occurs from 1 to 3 or 4 times a night.
The hotflashes in the daytime, can vary to one or two to several. Their intensity varies too. Sometimes I just feel intensely hot but not sweaty and other times I sweat like crazy. But they pass pretty quickly.

I know that you will find lots of answers and support here. Hope to see you post soon.
Hugs,
Jeaninne

Thanks for the response! It's so crazy right now! Instead of my bleeding slowing down, it's simply getting heavier. I had 6 days straight, then stopped for five, and right after that 5 more days heavy bleeding. I am seeing the gyn end of this month to discuss options such as hysterectomy. Right now, I just feel like I want to go to bed with an ice pack-LOL!

Dear 'Legalgirl'
Hello and welcome!
Sounds like you are having the ever popular'Flushes and Flashes'It is very uncomfortable.Try to keep caffeine and alcohol to a minimum.
Also some ladies have found Primrose Oil- a herbal remedy- to be a fairly effective remedy.
Hopefully all will become clearer after your Gyno. appointment.
Though to be truthful have found more information and compassion on this Board than from many Doctors!
Wishing you all the Best
Keep Posting and let us know how you are doing
Warm Wishes
Elizabeth

Well, I've been trying to cut out caffeine anyway due to stomach issues. Guess this just gives me another good reason (sigh!) mad.gif
