Plus acid reflux. Happena not from food but from liquids -- especially water.

So far have tried:

Tagament (works more or less -- have't taken it regularly yet)
Alka Seltzer (threw it up)
Pepto (ditto)
Mylanta (made it worse)
Apple Cider Vinegar (did it twice - once it helped once it made it worse)
Probiotics

Not all of these at once of course biggrin.gif

This has been going on for about a week. Think it's stress related. A tiny amount of Xanax helps.

At the moment I am trying digestive enzymes and papaya. I have no other issues (no pain, etc. The only things that made me sick to my stomach including Mexican food for dinner last night have been antacids) and my appetite is good but drinking water, herbal tea, etc. causes a problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Lydia

I get bouts of that quite badly from time to time. None of the basic antacids work for me either. Tagamet is OK but for some reason it always makes me feel really hungry so now I use Famotidine. It works like a dream and one dose lasts up to 24 hours. Once my tummy is settled down I am ok again and don't need it for more than a couple of days.

That works for me, too, but I don't always remember to take it an hour before so I'm trying the Tagamet which claims you can take it anytime -- even after meals, but it doesn't seem to work as well.

I'm hoping the digestive enzymes do something. This really bites.

I have never read on my bottle of famotidine that you have to take it an hour before eating. I don't always have heartburn until after eating so I can't predict it in advance. I find it works any time especially after meals!

Thanks. I'll give it a try after meals b/c that's my worst time.
