I wrote about this earlier and the post got yanked. I finally used my Nuface last night and have to share that frankly, I am shocked at how good the thing is. I really did not expect such a toning, tightening effect. Having not had salon facials or Botox I can't really compare, but to have a tighter face for a full 24 hours, to actually wake up and feel and look younger... it is easily the best $300 I have ever spent in my life. I turn 39 next week and am looking forward to a decade of looking at least 10 years younger. Botox is scratched off my list for good. There is no way I will pay a couple of hundred bucks to look younger if I can microcurrent my face at home and look younger in 5 minutes. I am not a NuFace rep, I have to stress this. I am writing this testimonial because there does not seem to be that much written about it online despite being featured in fashion magazines every couple of months.

NuFace Microcurrent Device ($325): Tighten your complexion at home. Microcurrents instantly lift skin, and studies show a reduction of fine lines and wrinkles when used over time.

The before and after on this website is quite stunning, you really have to check it out before posting that microcurrent does not work.

Hey I ordered this a few months ago and it really does work! I use it before bed, because it turns my face bright red, and the gooey stuff has to be off my face for 8 hours before I go out in public, when I wake up in the morning, my face does look so much tighter and younger.

I found a Rejuvenique mask at a discount store (new) for $10.00. I bought it and have used it. It does work, but I am so busy that I forget to use it. I think that I will drag it back out again. I hated to be shocked, but it does work. It is slightly painful. It also looks like a Jason mask, so you have to use it when your family is not around! LOL!

I also bought one of those neckline slimmers for $20.00. I think it is working.

I also use RetinA and get a good peel. I do not use it every day, as suggested. I used it once every two weeks. It works, too. A tube cost $40.00, but last forever.

Did not microcurrent my face last night and really feel tired and old looking today. I drank a bottle of wine over the weekend so that is also a factor. I am in public surfing today and that is the real litmus test.... How people treat me based on the difference in how I look and feel after microcurrent versus how I look without it. I am being serious when I say there has been a real difference, people really do seem to notice. I actually did this on purpose because I was wondering if there really would be any noticeable difference or if I was just imagining it. I am only 39 and am dealing with the very beginning of the "tired" look. Although I don't think I look that wrinkly or tired today and do. Before microcurrent I really bs'd myself a lot and told myself there was no way I looked much older than 30. It's denial, especially since I did not think there was much of anything I could do about it. I managed to get through my mid to late 30s without being on a retinoid either probably also due to the same denial. If you are reading this and think you look older than you do and should do something about it, because it is not likely the culture is going to get any less sexist or ageist.

Ok, you've got my attention. Just what does it do for you? Is this for the face, precisely, or can it help a sagging jawline? I'm 43 and I swear, my jaw is 'falling' into awful folds below my face when I tilt my head down. If something short of a facelift could fix that, I'd buy it in a heartbeat... if it worked. But it sounds like this is more for the face?

It tones up the skin and makes it look like I've had a mini face lift, or like a mid face lift. My whole face looks and feels tighter. The effect lasts about 24-48 hours but it is recommended that you use it 5 days a week for 5 minutes for the first 3 months. I have used it a little over 2 weeks and think it is the best beauty investment I have ever made, except maybe salon highlights.

Results:

* Reduction of fine lines, creases, and wrinkles
* Skin hydration and revitalization, resulting in smoother and softer skin
* Decrease of puffiness and edema
* Restoration of the "pink glow" of youthful tones
* Visible firming and contouring, lifting overall drooping features
* Tightening of sagging jowls, doubling chins, and fatty cheeks
* Shrinking of enlarged pores
* Reduction of blackheads and acne
* Reduction of scars and pitting
* Reduction of dark circles and puffiness under eyes
* Reduction of the symptoms from Eczema, Melasma and Rosacea

You can use it on your neck too if you need to; I haven't yet. I am getting a pretty good result just focusing on my jaw line and cheeks.

Hopefully this link won't get removed, it is a URL linking to the NuFace website that shows all the media coverage it has gotten the last few years. NuFace has been mentioned in ELLE, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, In Style, Redbook, Marie Claire. Self and Shape. It was also featured on the Rachel Ray show. ***

Microcurrent facials (not the actual NuFace device) was featured on Oprah in February 2004. Oprah said she could tell a difference in her skin after a half an hour treatment.

Many celebrities like Kate Winslet rely on Tracie's rescultping facial before red carpet events and photo shoots.***

I use my NuFace for 5-20 minutes a day. Obviously 30 minutes is going to give a greater effect than 5 minutes. Using the device daily is what makes it worth it IMO. The treatments effects are cumulative and build on each other. I don't regret buying it and recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to look saggy, tired and wrinkled at midlife. Along with Retin A I think it is a miracle. I have been doing a lot of skin care research lately and am convinced that this approach-- Retin A and microcurrent--- may be a better bet long term than expensive injections and certainly more cost effective than an actual face lift.

NuFace is mentioned again this month in Harper's Bazaar in an article about how to get great skin. Tina Fey is on the cover. I have used it now for a month and am happy with how much more toned my skin is. That the corners of my mouth are not as downturned is really reassuring. I had never thought about getting a facelift but I'm sure the way I've been aging the last year or two that I would have needed one for sure eventually. I may still have to get one, but for now, the NuFace is helping me enjoy what's left of my youth.

I found these reviews on Skin Store last night. About 70% of the reviewers have something positive to say about it:

I found an interesting tidbit last night while surfing. Kate Moss, the waif supermodel from England, is raving about a microcurrent device similar to Nuface called Tua Viso. In the articles I read it said she bought one for all her friends. Kate is a heavy smoker and partier; I noticed in a recent perfume ad for YSL that she doesn't look that worn out considering her lifestyle. At 35 she is too young for plastic surgery, and has (probably) not had Botox.

It looks like an interesting gadget. There is a website with a lot of information about it, google Tina Richards tua viso.

Sorry to post on this again, I found a book on the Tina Richards website:
http://www.amazon.com/Hell-Heels-Helena-Fr...5794&sr=8-1

To Hell in High Heels: How to Age Gracefully, Disgracefully, or Not At All
, by Helena Frith Powell. She writes about the microcurrent facialist mentioned in above post, Tina Richards.

from website: Sooner or later, it happens to everyone: getting older. Some do it gracefully, others less so, but no one is immune to wrinkles and grey hair creeping up, seemingly overnight. And once they're there, they're hard to shift. Helena Frith Powell, fashion and lifestyle journalist extraordinaire, didn't even want to think about surrender.

Surely, something could be done about advancing age? Armed with potions, lotions and pills (as well as resorting to a few much more extreme measures), she sets out to investigate any and all anti-aging tricks out there. From green tea and Botox to yoga and exfoliating masks, "To Hell in High Heels" is the hilariously funny tale of one woman taking on the body clock, giving you a tried-and-tested survival guide for that ill-fated moment when the first wrinkle dares show its face.
