I haven't had a full-blown 'hot flash' but I have times during the day when I get very hot, not sweaty, I just feel as if I have been out in the sun hot.

Same in bed but no night sweats

On top of this I have got very cold feet and hands. Have suffered with very cold feet all through the heat of the Summer, all the time my cycle has gone haywire

Are these still hot flashes?

They do not sound like classic hot flashes to me although everyone is different.
The worse part of the hot flash for many women is the "aura" that proceeds it-a feeling of doom and anxiety, a rise in heart rate and a feeling of blood rushing up to the head. Then the hot flash which comes almost as a relief.

I do remember in very early peri feeling very hot around my period time. Not flashes but just really overheated. I think this often happens before the real flashes kick in.Maybe this is what you are getting?
If you have cold hands and feet maybe something else is going on. It is not usually a peri symptom. Could it be thyroid related?

There are mild ones.I get a tingly feeling on my upper back. Then I get sweaty on my chest,or I just feel a flush of warmth up my chest and face. But it may intensify as I get closer to menopause?!But look under "hot flashes" link there is a post were people describe their hot flashes.

You are describing some very similar to what I get only mine are more intense and come on very rapidly. I'm not a "sweaty" kind of girl anyway, so don't sweat then either but I feel like I'm on fire all over. Never really paid attention to hands and feet though, sorry. Everyone's "hot flashes" are different like all of these stupid peri symptoms. All I know is that mine got tremendously better as soon as I started taking 400mg of Vit. E each day. I know for sure that this is what helped because I had to stop taking it for a month around my surgery and the hot flashes came back. Now that I've gone back on the Vit. E, they have all but disappeared again. Cheap and easy way for me to get rid of them for the most part. I had tried several other things and none worked, Vit. E did it for me. Plus it's good for building red blood cells, etc. so I'm getting a "twofer"!
bluetick
I get like you describe but not break out in a sweat during the day- now at night I soak the bed. My feet and hands always end up freezing after a "hot flash".

I hate it because I go from wanting to tear my clothes off to shivering within minutes and wanting to jump into the hot tub.
