To make a long story "kind of" short -- I have experienced many of the chronic symptoms of "mysterious" undiagnosable aches and pains, menstrual issues, mood swings, etc., that we all talk about and seek medical and alternative help, support, and advice for.
Let me first say, I have had chronic rhinitus since childhood and what now we know, was low grade anxiety. I have been through the allergy scratch testing and am allegeric to several foods, and danders. Some believe in allergy tests, some people don't -- you decide for yourself if that's a possibility for you. I happen to be convinced that allergies can cause all sorts of maladies -- jmho based on experience, doing some research on credible studies, and comments by those who have been tested and treated for allergies.
Over the years as I grew into adulthood (having had chest pain since childhood) I have had several heart work-ups (all normal), thyroid, blood sugar, etc... all normal -- still have chronic anxiety, and now in peri-menopause, etc.
I and my doctor's theory is that for me, the combination of changing Hormones, Hx of Anxiety, and Sinus Allergies are all contributors (when viewed together as a whole) contribute significantly to, if not are the sum total reason for, my mood, physical ailments, and anxiety issues.
Here is my "cocktail" that has significantly helped me reduce mood swings, anixiety, and obsessing over bodily aches, pains, and those illusive/scary body vibration sensations, etc. I am not recommending it to anyone, I am sharing my story and what works for me only. My point is to consider Allergies and a facet of one's feelings of malaise. Allergies can cause all sorts of aches, pains, and mood/emotion problems.
My "Cocktail":
1 Multivitam that is formulated for Women (whatever one is for your age group) - Taken Daily
1 High Potency B complex vitamin - Taken Daily
1 Packet of powdered Emergn-C in a glass of ice water - Daily
3-4 OmegaBrite Fish Oil Caplsules - Taken Daily (look it up online -- and read the study and research on how this formula helps with all sorts of mood disorders, including bipolar -- I only mention the brand since it was used in a controlled study that is credible and verfiable). Use whatever brand you like.
1 Zyrtec-D Allergy Pill - 120mg (12 hr. formula) *the Rx is for 2 pills a day -- I only take 1 pill, when I get up in the morning. None at night, or I can't sleep.
Astelin Nose spray -- As Needed -- when my nose is stuffy OR runny.
Clonopin - .5 - 1.0 mg. -- As Needed -- and I don't often need it, when I have taken the above.
Occasionally at night I will take a Calcium/Magnesium supplement - dosage as indicated on bottle - if I can't relax physically.
I have started having hot-flashes, so I am going to add on the adivce of Dr. Andrew Weil on his web site:
"...black cohosh (Cimifiuga racemosa); I would recommend the standardized product called Remifemin plus 800 IUs of natural vitamin E (or 80mg as mixed tocopherols and tocotrienols) daily. Two to three daily servings of whole soy foods (tofu, tempeh, edamame, and soy milk) will give you some safe plant estrogens (isoflavones) that may help relieve symptoms." - Dr. Andrew Weil

I am not recommending "my cocktail" or endorsing/recommending Dr. Weil's advice or the Omegabrite brand. Its simply my story an what I choose to use and who's advice I have found helpful. -- Please consult your own physician before trying anything new.
I know how difficult it can be, when plagued by real or imagined (which perception is still "real" - but can be changed) as we ladies transition through life.
That's it! : )
Wishing eveyone perfect health and total peace of mind!
