I've had one migraine a week for an entire month. In the past, I've gotten one right before my period, and sometimes during ovulation. My last period came three days late, and was longer than normal. Then I had light spotting. I can almost feel my hormones swirling around in my body, creating havoc. Usually my migraines put me out of commission for 24 hours -- aura / one sided head icepick pain / vomiting. This month, they are milder -- I'm at least able to function. Took a Midrin last night and that helped the headache, but made me looopy and creates depersonalzation. Ack! ohmy.gif

Going to the GYN this morning just to get checked out because of the spotting -- haven't had a pap in a year, so it's time. The nurse I talked to yesterday said "Oh yes, sometimes when we're in our 40s we can get some spotting in perimenopause".

Anyone had any luck with any other meds? I've tried the triptans, but feel very shaky/disoriented after using them. I take 500mg magnesium a day too.
