I've been getting dizzy and lightheaded during and after exercise......last nigh while walking I got hit with a real bout with dizziness.....had to stop and let it pass. It feels like I'm not getting enought oxygen.....I was yawning alot. Today duing my Pump Class I had to keep looking down cause I was so dizzy. It felt like I was going to have a panic attack on the way home from the gym.....you know the feeling.....can't get enough air......you think your going to pass out while driving which kicks the anxiety in high gear. I really hate this. And of course I will rack my brain trying to figure out why.....I just started estrogen about a week ago which has given me LOADS of energy so I have been working out harder....is this causing it or maybe just the estrogen in general....it is a week before my cycle so I'm hitting the "yuck" stage anyway....could that be it.....is my estrogen up during this part of my cycle and since I'm taking estrogen now is it spiking to high....is this it..............................Does anyone else do this to themselves.....when really I'm just a prisioner of my hormones....they do just what they want when they want! I've been cutting back on my calories so maybe it's just low blood sugar......

wouldnt hurt to go see the doc and get your ticker checked out... last year I had hip surgery,, I had to go to physical therapy 3 times a week,, when he would have me do certain weight lifting exercises I would feel the same way ,, dizzy and light headed ,, I chalked it up to the surgery,, but I remembered that it was happening before that too ,, not sure if its hormonal, old age, or heart related, but doesnt hurt to get it checked out !

Good advice for sure! When all the panic/anxiety started about 7 years ago I had a full heart thing done.....all good to go!

Well....I thought I'd take half of a xanax to see if this lightheadedness is anxiety......and in 30 min it was gone! So I guess this is anxiety???????

Hey, I get this sometimes too! It bums me out because I like to use exercise to combat anxiety... but occasionally I do get this symptom when I am pushing it (particularly during ovulation for some reason). Then I come close to a panic attack and have to talk myself out of that lovely experience. I have just decided to slow things down about when that hits and to try to remember that it wont be EVERY time I work out! For example, last week it was like that, but my session today none of that crap happened. As you can well imagine I was so very grateful!!!
As to the heart thing, always good to rule it out but usually short of breath and chest pain is more of a red flag. This weird dizzy thing feels much more like a blood pressure screw up or blood volume problem or even a kind of mini-hot flash, sorta. Is that how yours feel?

I think it could be because of a cold I've had lately......I noticed today in my yoga class I was having a hard time with my balance. So many symptoms it's hard to keep up!

If you are taking Xanax in any sort of regular way what you are feeling may very well be due to Xanax use. Xanax effects the GABA receptors in your brain. The receptors become accustom to the presence of Xanax even when it's used once or twice a week. This situation can cause your central nervous system to be easily overwhelmed, thus the dizziness and such during exercise. The fact that taking Xanax took your symptoms away may be a good indicator of Xanax involvement.

Make sure you are not dehydrated.Your urine should be straw color.Do you have hot flashes or night sweats?They are both dehydrating and you loose a lot of minerals.I started having some of my husbands electrolite drink in the morning to replace what I loose when I sweat at night.Also low iron can cause dizziness.

I too suffer with that lightheaded/dizzy feelings nearly 24/7. I have a few Xanax which I have been carefully rationing for those worst days. I feel the Xanax does make the lightheaded/dizzy feelings go away for me just as you experienced. I agree with you that those feeling in our heads are a physical symptom of anxiety even when there is nothing that should be making us anxious. Our constant hormone imbalance is telling our subconscious brains to be anxious ! Intellectually we know there is nothing to be anxious about which makes this really hard.
