Was wondering if anyone experienced "creepy crawlie" feelings under the skin?

Hi Susan - I get the "creepy crawly skin" every time there's a night sweat or hot flash coming. I feel my skin start to crawl all over, but especially on my legs, a minute or two BEFORE I feel the heat wave. At night, I actually wake up at the "crawly skin" stage, and lay there waiting for the episode to begin.

Hi JeanMine feels sorta like pins and needles. I've also heard it described like "ants crawling under your skin". Mine has nothing to do with the flashes. I just seem to notice it when I lay down. I feel like I have to stretch my leg muscles, sometimes its in my hips and arms and I hate it. I don't get it all the time. When I was having a period, it almost became part of my cycle, like when you crave chocolate. It would last for a few days and then be gone for the rest of the month. Now, I haven't had it happen recently but boy its a weird feeling.

SusanAs for myself I have severe itching....under my skin especially my back.....had this a couple of times now....and I just try and put some cool water on to ease the itch or tingling.....as for myself I use the Nat. Progesterone Cream which has helped me a lot with my symptoms.

I read somewhere that if your mother had an infection when she was pregnant with you, that it could cause earlier meno.Does anyone know what sort of illness or infection?Would something like pneumonia do anything?I had been thinking about how mum was ill for the first 2 months after I was born and was bed ridden. She often got pluresy and had pneumonia a few times.Just wondering,Bye for now and lots of love,Meesh.

i don't have that crawley feeling..but my Mom has told me that she had it during "the change"..she's often asked me if i've ever had that..noootttt yet...she got shots from the dr. don't know what kind..probably vitamins i'll have to ask her..and took those Lydia Pinkam pills..she was about 40 when she started the symptoms and ended the bleeding and most symptoms by the time she was 49..now i've heard that you kinda do the same as your Mom..so i'll soon be 48..my how time flies..lol..and will see if that is true..but then again they say the same with starting periods.she was 11..i was 15..so maybe i'll have a few more yrs..daughter was 13.2 when she got her first period....

I have experienced shortness of breath for the past 6 months.....Have been really afraid something serious is wrong; besides menopause.....Have had tests; nothing found.....was relieved to see a couple of other women on another site said they had the same thing.Anyone else having shortness of breath?

I sometimes feel like I'm not getting enough air ! This feeling isn't with me all the time thankfully. I've heard other women say that as well. I don't smoke, do you? If you do you might want to get it checked out.

I don't smoke; never have. This shortness of breath has been pretty consistent for the past 4 mos....it really s*cks. I have been on natural progesterone cream though and read shortness of breath may be contributed to excess estrogen.....I'm hoping once my estrogen and progesterone balance out that the breath problem will cease.....However, on a better note, I have NEVER had a hot flash....go figure!

I've been in the peri-menopause state for about 2 years now. My periods are still right on time, but much lighter. I've experienced the shortness of breath and I'm a very active walker/power walker. I never related my shortness of breath to the possbility of menopause. My chest feels tight; I've never smoked and my doctor says my lungs and heart sound great. The myriad of symptoms one can get from starting menopause is incredible from reading some of the posts here.

I have such a lack of direction lately. Can't seem to get motivated about anything. It's worse premenstrually. EVERYTHING is worse premenstually:D.
I have a 1000 things I could/should be doing, but I have the attention span of a knat!! I'll walk into a room, and then forget why I walked in there. I'll pick up the phone, then forget who I was going to call. If I somehow can come up with WHO it was, I forget WHY I was calling.
And the thing is.... I don't care.
I need a nap, or maybe a shrink!
