Hi

I have been experiencing alot of sneezing and running nose(which is almost unheard of as my nose is almost always stuffy) for about 2 weeks now, I am highly allergic to dust and mildly to other things, but don't really know what triggered this last spell, maybe a cold. Anyway 3 days ago my throat started to get mildly sore and I felt feverish, again who can tell if they are really sick with this hormonhal stuff.......so I just blew it off again......last night I started to get pain in my left cheek next to my nose when I touched it or pushed on it it would throb....i have tmj so again figured i was grinding hard or something and put a heat pack on it....I alos have been dizzy everyday which is a new one to since I usually get a break when it is hormonal at some point......anyway to the point I woke this morning and that side of my face is swollen, not hugely but it is swollen and it hurts to push or smile....it is going into the tooth directly above, but the tooth itself does not hurt if that makes sense and I have regular checkups, really don't think it is the tooth.......I called the Dr. and she said to let it go for a couple of days and it sounds like something is brewing, but most sinus infections clear on their own........the swelling and mild fever is what concerns me.....my face has never swelled with my sinus problems before and i have enough sinus problems...I feel generally sick which al of this could explain why I have felt so nasty i the past week or so......and advice......thanks Mikki

Hi mikki:

Could you have gotten a mild cold that turn into sinusitis and possibly a mild infection. I know that my daughter has alot of allergies year round and she can get a sinus infection at the drop of a hat but it usually is when she has a cold. Poor kid, her cheeks swell every time and she looks like she has airbags under eyes and inside her mouth that are fully inflated.

If it continues, I would definitely check with your doctor.

I hope that you feel better really soon. Hugs to you,
Jeaninne

Hi Mikki -

I'm in Wisconsin too and I have the same thing brewing! Except no swollenness but I'm sure that's related to sinuses. I've had a sore throat for the last fews days but I thought that was related to post-nasal drip which which was running constantly. Today, the throat pain is gone but now I've got a dull ache in my upper teeth and cheekbones and generally feel yucky and still with the running nose but also feeling stuffy, too. Something in the air here in Wisco??

Oh I understand. I just went to the doctor today and have a sinus infection and double ear infection. I have been having lots of congestion, sore throat, head pain, (forehead and top of the head), and teeth and cheek pain. I have felt a little lump in my cheek and the doctor says its just a cyst. (he assured me it was not cheek cancer). I tend to be a nervous nelly. I have tmj too and jaw arthritis so dont' always know if its that or sinuses. The doctor thought the cheek thing was probably started my the clenching. My left cheek always feels a bit swollen, and that has been the case for a few years. Anyway, I started on mucinex d, you get it behind the counter. It has helped a bit, also I started an antibiotic.

I don't mean for this to be all about me, but I wanted you to know I have similar symptoms and hoped it would make you feel better to know you are not alone. I hope you are getting better.
