So I think I have found a pattern. This is the 3rd month in a row that I feel lousy the week after my period. I only have the period day 1-3, and I think days like 4-10 are my bad days. Anxiety kicks in, terrible fatigue and depression. Anxiety is better this month thanks to zoloft and xanax, but I defininately have the totally awful feeling otherwise, like I've been hit by a mack truck! Is it bcause my estrogen is not kicking in? I have a pack of Yaz that I've been on the fence about. Will this help even things out and get me off this rollercoaster?

Hi Maine Mom--

Sorry you are having some hard days again. Are you still working your way up to your full AD dose? You MIGHT want to wait and see what a month feels like once you have been on the full dose, if you get consistant relief with that alone. (if you can stand waiting)

As I have typed before on these boards, I am on Celexa (20 mg) and microgestin (BCP) and feel pretty much like my old self most days now (TG!! laugh.gif ) But I am wondering if I could eventually drop one or the other and still feel ok. I feel like a chemistry experiment. Hard to tell as I started them pretty close together--I will have to wait til I am feeling brave sometime to try I guess.

With me, one SEEMED to help the other work more consistantly.....

Not sure about Yas in particular--seems to be one of those drugs people love or hate. I'm sure you will get good advice here....

Thanks Sissy. Yah, I had two really good weeks, now feel crappy again. Just thinking that it's hormonal was hoping that the bcp could even it out. Will definitely stick with the ad and and willing to creep up to a therapeautic dose. You know.... always searching, searching for the answer!!!

My guess is that it IS hormones affecting your brain chemistry where you felt good then bad again. But maybe your AD will give you enough serotonin floating around so that you won't be as susceptible to dips in hormones...But don't quote me, I was an English major rolleyes.gif . And a BCP is a good next step--one thing I liked about them is that you know pretty quickly if they will help.

My main symptom now is the terrible fatigue. Anxiety is better with the zoloft and xanax. Now I read that bcps cause people to feel fatigue. I don't need that! I need to stop googling!!!

i stopped googling along time ago, its just too stress-ful all roads would lead to the big C, i dont even do it if my cat gets ill, cause my mind would take me to the worse scenerio and then just dwell on it for ever, so i force my self not to- or watch any health programs on t.v......

Same here!!! Lousy the week after period. It's like PMS after instead of before- anxiety, fatigue, depression...

Hang in there! I don't have any great advice otherwise, as I'm coping with the same thing...... sad.gif
