I have been slowly starting to feel better with all these meno symtoms but still cant take a nap.........I know this sounds crazy but even if a fall asleep for 20 mins for a nap I wake up shaky and feeling worse then I did before my nap?.......it takes me about an hour before a feel normal again?......does anyone else have this problem?..........I wake up most mornings feeling fine but just cant take a nap.......I work nights so I try and take one before I go to work......but after this afternoon I will not do it again........Im so confused about why this happens........peace all Valerie

I wish I could nap, when I can get a nap in which is almost never, it feels good most of the time. On occasion I have also woke up with some anxiety. I miss napping though. I'm kinda lazy these days but I am never fatigued enough to really sleep without assistance from meds. I did have some normal sleep patterns about 3 weeks ago, I got tired at 10ish like a normal person and feel into a lovely deep slumber and slept 6-7 hours straight. There is nothing better than feeling naturally sleepy. Right now I am yawning but i am anxious so I won't be able to nap unless I take something and I won't take anything. Have a great day, Mich

It has been some time since I took a nap during the day. There are days when I really want to nap but dont because I feel cruddy after a nap and I never sleep very well when I do.
I wake up feeling disoriented, anxious, and in a hurry for whatever reason. Alot of times I wake up from a nap with a headache.
So no more napping for me unless I cant help it.

all napping does for me is make me feel groggy and foggy headed and i end up with a bad headache.

I feel ok if I sleep for maybe 5 minutes .. anything longer and I feel bad too !!

YES I feel awful after laying down...I usually don't fall asleep but almost. I always get up feeling waaaay worse.

when i try to take a nap the phone goes off, the door bell rings, mail deliverys, its like the entire world knows im trying to nap

Ok, I actually just took a nap, woke up at 9:00 which usually I feel fine but I had anxiety (which I haven't had in a while enough that I had to take .5 xanax) I am on my period (heavy day ughhh)...anyways fell asleep at 10:00 am and woke up at 1:30 pm.... quite the nap. I woke up jittery and have a smidge of anxiety, ate and hopefully it won't be too bad. The nap was wonderful though.

The last time I took a nap was a few months ago when we were out of town. Dear H woke me up so we could leave for an event. My heart took off like a race horse and stayed at 145 bpm for the next 45 min. No more naps for me.

I know it is awful not to be able to take a nap........I fell asleep sitting up this afternoon before work and just had weird awlful dreams.......my dream are much worse when I nap then when i sleep at night.....then i woke up wired and confused.......I just wish we had an answer for why this happens............valerie

Yep, I can't nap either. I have tried in the past but wake up feeling worse than before I did nap. So, I gave up on napping. Now I meditate during the afternoon and that helps me feel a little refreshed.

Count me in, I can't nap either.
I wake up anxious and my heart is racing, and I have hard time to really wake up, keep falling asleep.
I feel like napping only when I have bad anxiety, so my guess will be, it is the initial anxiety that makes me want to nap, as normally, I don't feel need to nap, if this makes sense.
So, when I feel like napping, I know, I wake up with bad panic attack and racing heart...and this weird feeling of paralysis and loss of reality.
I wonder if kids feel the same way, when they wake up cranky and crying. Interesting, that I always have bad dreams when I nap, it can be all connected in my crazy brain. wink.gif
