I am in a panic state here. Losing my hair like crazy. All my hypo-symptoms back , t3 below range, t4 low range and I find out that the formula of Armour was changed no wonder I feel terrible. I was blaming it on menopause and my bhrt levels and I'm thinking that isnt it at all. Now to top it all off......we arent going to be able to get natural thyoid anymore?????? Is anyone else in the same boat and what are you doing? I currently take 75 mg of armour.

This is really scarey and I am not sure what to do. Any suggestions? sad.gif

check out the options on Janie's....stop the thyroid madness.....site. I think on the left side of the page click on Armour thyroid and other brands....once there, she has a small message regarding the shortage and FDA and in that sentence is a link to click on called "options".

Not sure what all is going on with the dessicated thyroid....who's still making it...or if a compounding pharm can make it for you..if they have stock?

actually click on "treatment" and then "dessicated thyroid brands"....sorry about that...their site has changed..I was used to the old one!

You could also have some Lemon balm tea[mint family]according to Susan Weeds book it reduces thyrotrophin production. You could google [lemon balm/hyperthyroid] it also has a calming effect and is good for digestion. Lumz

I don't know about Armour, but I took Thyrolar, which is similar as it contains the T3 like Armour. It was terrible for me (became hyperthyroid, even on a low dose and got very ill). I'm back on the Synthroid.

Anyway, what I wanted to say is that my endocrinologist says you really only need T4, because most people's bodies will convert the necessary amount to T3. I know that is controversial to some, but there are things you can add that will help the conversion if you want to try Synthroid. He told me to use 100 selenium and a standard amount of tyrosine (I will have to check on that amino acid, I might have the wrong one, sorry).

I know some women love the natural, since it has the T3, but I thought I'd just suggest that if you add the supplements to the Synthroid, you may be fine with the T3 conversion.

Good luck to all.

i just ordered some naturthroid from a pharmacy in MD. i usually use armour and i have about 20 pills left but im afraid to use it because of the new formulation and stuff i heard about it making you feel bad. ive been feeling a little worse every day for the last month and now i think i know why. here is the name and number of the pharmacy:KNOWLES PHARMACY 301-942-7979, FAX- 301-942-5544. And another one i was told to try was HAZEL DRUG 570-454-2670, they are in PA. I was told they both should have naturthroid. i had them overnight the pills to me so i hope i get them tomorrow, its been 3 days now since ive taken anything and im getting a little freaked out about what might happen. can anyone tell me how they do on naturthroid? i heard it was the same thing as armour but with hypo-allergenic fillers so they said i should feel even better on it. i hope so. im really afraid of any new meds so im hoping to hear good things here people. lol please refrain from telling me any horror stories, seriously. thanks
