Ever since I had a bunch of panic attacks back in April I've been plagued with anxiety which I believe has been exacerbated by a hormonal imbalance since my miscarriage in March. Sometimes I have this bizarre sensation in my mouth/throat that feels like a "dropping" feeling -- sort of like you get in your stomach when you're scared or have an adrenaline rush, but I feel it in my mouth. It's really hard to explain and only lasts for a second, but it always freaks me out. My anxiety seems to have settled primarily in mouth since my panic attacks began with a tingling feeling on my tongue/around my mouth and then a choking sensation. I can go for days where my mouth feels normal and then all of a sudden it starts feeling tingly/off again and I get really fixated on all the sensations and then these wierd dropping feelings come and go. I think it sort of feels like a depersonalization feeling that others have talked about, but I'm not sure since I don't know if I've really experienced that.

I just wanted to reply to you since you were so nice to offer me support smile.gif I have suffered from anxiety/panic long before perimenopause ( I am 42) and I can relate to some of what you are talking about. I know when I am experiencing a bad bout of anxiety it feels like my throat is closing, almost like a choking feeling. I also get that burning tongue sensation.

Just wanted you to know you were not alone.

Take Care

Sunny~
