Hi Ladies~

Ok..I hope I am not alone! On and off at night when I am trying to go to sleep, my tongue will twitch?! It feels like it jerks a little or something?? I have to be honest and say it kind of freaks me out as my mind starts to think of all those horrible things it could be...

I am ovulating right now, so I am experiencing insomnia, anxiety, sleep anxiety, body jerks/limb jerking and now this..??

I hope I am not alone or I will really be scared!!

Thank you for reading and your thoughts are truly appreciated.

Take Care

Hi Sunny, I haven't actually had this symptom (I've had tons of others, though and many of them have dealt w/ my mouth -- tingling, numbness, and just generally odd feeelings). I actually just posted something else about my odd mouth sensations to give you an idea. I did want to respond, though, and tell you that I've run across the tongue twitching on a lot of websites about anxiety, so perhaps that will give you some reassurance. Take care.

Hi Sunny.

You are not alone. I am 45 and about six months ago I started to get the tongue twitching, the tongue itching, the roof of my mouth itching...off and on. It's very annoying and happens when I am mostly awake. The twitching sort of feels like the combination of a simultaneous itch and an electrical shock.

Hi Sunny. I have been having tongue twitching, lip twitching, and muscle jerks for over a year now. Sometimes its worse than others. It used to be when I was falling asleep or waking up in the morning. Now it is throughout the day. It does bother me sometimes. Other times I try to ignore it. I can't find anything that really makes it worse or better. I am hoping one day it will disappear. My doctor doesn't seem to be concerned. He told me he would send me to a neurologist if I wanted to go. I did have two MRIs in the past three years and nothing was found. So, I am guessing it is perimenopause.

I hope you are doing better. I see your post was in September. Keep us posted.

Please give a magnesium supplement a try. It is most effective when you take a calcium/mag. tablet, a glass of milk, and then a bit more magnesium. I have had the best luck with a liquid mang. supplement. All of these things are inexpensive.

They are also effective for kids with "growing pains."

Try it for 3 days, and let me know how it is working. Many women are low in mang.

(Bet it works!)...it is great for restless leg syndrome, too.

Thanks Shebee.

I have been taking Magnesium Citrate for about two weeks 400 mg a day divided in two dosages. I was told to try this for my migraines. Would this do the same thing as the one with calcium that you take? I still get some twitches, but I can't tell if there are as many. I may try upping my mag dose to 600-800 mg a see if that helps.

Thanks again for the tip. smile.gif

Ok...now you threw in migraines. This changes what else I might add. LOL! You, see, I was the Migraine Queen.

I was having at least 4 migraines a month which lasted 2-3 days each. My vision was always messed up...I live in a "pre-migraine" state most of the time. It was due to lack of hormones. Since starting on bios, (estrogen, Progest., & testosterone) all of the weird meno symptoms went away...in ONE DAY! My thoughts are now clear, and since Jan. of this year I have not had one migraine.

Have you had your hormones tested?
Dropping estrogen caused all sorts of problems...to depression to ?????
Most docs put meno women on AD's. They do this just to get rid of them. While somewhat effective, they only mask the problem. It does not CURE the problem.

If you call a compounding pharmacy (I use the above recommended one...PETE is great!). He will mail your scripts to you. He could probably tell you what doctor that they work with in your area. This is something that you should check out.

My doc ran the test and many of my levels were "in range." However, I was a mess! My doc uses the test for a reference, but he treats for the symptoms. I have never felt so great in my life!

I have a funny knack of pinpointing root causes, given enough information. I am not in the medical field, but I do read lots of research papers & etc. I have an odd mix of information in my brain. LOL!

Write us back....the ladies here are great; they have helped me tremendously!
