OK, does anyone else have the issue of perky nipples? My goodness, mine are like standing at attention all the time. You know how it used to be when they got cold and did that? Well, mine do it all the time. I was walking in the store one day and happened to look in the mirror and yep, there were the nipples standing at attention and this was through my blouse, a tank and my bra. Does anyone know why this happens? I know I am in meno now as I haven't gotten a period since Dec. 2 . Well, I take that back, that was my last actual period that I had some flow. I did have something that I only saw when I wiped so maybe that was a period? That was in August. In any case, I know things are crazy so I am wondering if this is from to much progest. not enough estrogen vica versa.
I guess it is bra shopping with an extra padded bra.

I've seen a new commercial lately about a bra that's suppossed to help "cover up" those little boogers. It has "flower petals" on the inside of the cups. What will they think of next??

Interesting how some of us have this problem. I saw that bra advertisement with the petals too. I wonder how good that works. Maybe some meno sister came up with that design as she had perky nipples too.

Yup, got it too. Mine aren't like this every minute of the day but pretty much MOST of the minutes. They seem to have gotten VERY sensitive to ANY stimulation these days. My husband refers to them as circuit breakers ... "your circuit breakers have popped". That's how I know it's happening sometimes. I'm wondering, if that bra with the "petals" doesn't do it maybe nursing pads would help. Although, I seem to remember being able to see those if I had a light weight blouse on. Would love to hear a good suggestion though if someone has one.

oh pleeeeeeeeaaassse! is this our "big" prob????? i got them also, proud as can be! post meno, they don't hurt anymore, yet they are big and round and they shoot right out there!

i do not believe to show them off, except for my hubby, yet why obsess about what some women wish for? in my the good ol days, my friend had nips that looked like twisties, they honestly were thin and had a twirl to themselves.....and they rose to power!
hold onto those big nips sisters!
do you wish for small ones?????????? those that cannot be found or inverted nips.........c'mon girls, let's not go there! (hugs)
if you look further, there is a company that made a bra with big nipples in also...........they got rich overnight!

glad you enjoy your nipples being shown to the world boohoo, but i don't and it looks like alot of other ladies don't either. And we're not obsessing, just trying to find a solution.I personally think it looks sleezy and don't appreciate everyone seeing them, especially my kids,co-workers,my mother, etc.

I don't like my nipples showing either and was wondering why they do that. They never used to unless I was cold or aroused. So, I was mostly curious not obsessed.

Hello ladies....yes I noticed that too with the nipple issue. I haven't had a period since last November (1 year coming up-I am crossing my fingers) anyway the bra you are taking about is from Bali and is sold by JC Penney. BUY IT.......they are wonderful. It is the only bra I have ever had that actually works and is comfortable. I can wear thin T-shirts in the summer and sweaters in the winter with absolutely no problem. They came out with it just about a year ago and I bought 3 just to try it out. I couldn't wait to order more and I threw out all the rest of my bras and only wear those. It is so nice not to be worried at all about that. So by all means go buy yourself some......They are wonderful....

Breast petals! JC Penny sales them. I need them too but hadn't looked for a solution till I saw your post. Aparently, we aren't the only ones who are having a problem.
BooHoo, no offense taken. When we consider all the issues we struggle with, this one isn't at the top of the list but it's nice to have one that has a quick solution.

Do they sell the breast petals separate? If not, I am going to go bra shopping at Pennies in a few weeks. It sounds like a perfect solution.
No offense taken BooHoo. I mostly was curious on why nipples do that when they never did before. I am like that and like to find out why things do what they do.

mops, i guarnntee (sp) it is due to hormones, as usual, when i was pregnant, i had torpedoes...the good ol hormones, before a period, again, nipples gone wild....hormone fluctuation, and now, here we go again, peri or post meno. i am seriously glad there was no offense taken......i wish i had an answer for what happens and why and how we can control it all without spending money to fix the human uncertainties

The only thing that's ever worked for me are those silicon pads that cover just the nipple. With that I can get away with wearing a slightly padded bra and my nipples won't show.

I think Walmart has the bras with the petals in them to hide the nips....cheaper than JCP too.

I'm the opposite - my nipples were constantly hard through my teens, 20s, 30s, 40s... since it was just part of "who I was", I wasn't really self conscious about it. They were hard whether I was aroused or not, that's just the way they were! Good blood flow? I dunno... A stiffer, padded bra always worked to hide them - "armored bras" I call them. That's what I would wear to work or PTA meetings etc. More casually I would wear more comfortable bras - at least softly padded - but they would usually show through. I just didn't care.
That went away in my 50's. I could wear NO bra and nothing would show anymore! I kinda missed it because it was another thing that was "me" that turned out to be just my hormones after all.
And I started bioidentical hormones almost a month ago - and they're back! At least somewhat. I think a softly padded bra would do the trick now - so they're not quite the same - but I couldn't use a thin bra anymore.

I've had this problem for many years, although when I take off my bra my nipples don't seem to be all that erect. They just show through my blouses for some reason.
Storytime...years ago, I was walking to my office building downtown. I crossed at the crosswalk and a man coming from the other direction leaned over at me as we passed and whispered "Your nipples are hard." I was so shocked -- and offended -- that I didn't say anything to him. What I wanted to do was shove him under a bus. And you know he did that just to see if he could get a rise -- no pun intended -- out of me.

Wow, I thought it was me. I am 48 and my last period was in August - took 5 pregnancy tests cause I am so neurotic and they were all negative. My doctor told me I was in perimenopause but at the same time this thing was going on with my breasts and nipples and was freaking me out. I just bought a few of those bras everyone is talking about. Even had to go up a size plus I have that weird feeling around my nipples - this ain't fun!
When I was younger, I was always flat chested and hated that. I sort if miss it now....
btw, great site!

Sorry, I replied to the Intro Yourself page - to a NEW PS sister named "MaryBeth1024"
who was talking about nipples and she is no longer getting her period.
Nope and thanks for the emails, that is not me. I accidentally replied under that thread
Nope, not me - I still get those periods, had a lapse last summer but I still get them.
I'm feeling pretty good, and I no longer have those nipple issues - but we were discussing them in another thread today
too.

This board is great! I am an only child and my mother passed away so the only person I am able to talk to who I know went thru this is a friend of mine and I am probably driving her crazy with stupid questions all the time. btw, did you know you have to wait 60 seconds before you post to someone else? It's called "flood control" which I thought was ironic considering what we are all talking about.
The weird nipple feeling is just that, a weird feeling around the nipples and like the title of the thread says, I constantly look like my turkeys are ready. Now when I go out, I look at other women to see if they also have that midriff roll and then I try to figure out if they are peri or post menopause. What a fun game! lol
