For the last 3 months I have had the worst episodes of stomach pain. Sometimes it feels like trapped gas, and just bad bloating, but sometimes it doesn't. In july i had to go the ER b/c the pain was so intense and i was dry heaving and it was just awful. I thought I was passing a stone or something. I had all the tests and it came back nothing wrong. Then my gastro ordered a HIDA gall bladder test and I had that last week and the technicians said it looked normal. I now have to have an endoscope. I think that will come back negative too.
I cannot find any pattern to why these pains start to happen. I'm wondering if it's a fibromyalgia symptom and maybe I've always had fibro with all my back and hip pains? I take low doses of Armour and Cytomel and Cortisol and have been for 8 months and never had a problem before. I was also on a cruise ship (didn't get off it though) and the pain started after that. My doctor doesn't think I have a parasite. I was put back on Aciphex weeks ago and also a strong probiotic for 8 weeks and still have these bad pains. I don't get sick to my stomach; no diarrhea, no constipation, all that is normal, just these weird pains.
I have been using .75mg of Estrogel for several months now and I also used Prometrium. I changed from Prometrium to an OTC progesterone cream two months ago. But even while still on the Prometrium I had this pain in the stomach issue.
For some reason, I'm starting to notice I get hot like almost a flash, which I never had even before starting the Estrogel. It doesn't happen a lot but lately like once a day. My last blood level for estradiol was 12. That was weird too, because I get so many different levels while on the same dose over the last year. Sometimes high, sometimes low, it's never even close to a steady number.
The last test showing a 12 seems very pitiful. Is it possible that these pains are from low estrogen? I would take another dose and go up, but I'm not on progesterone at this time and I'm wondering if it's low progesterone too?
Anyone get awful, weird stomach pains out of the blue for awhile? This is now 10 weeks. Next week I go for the endoscope.
Thanks.

I don't know if this applies. but are you taking a lot of nsaids? I know someone that recently went through what you described. The endo showed inflamation. she was taking exedrin like candy. dr gave her pills to stop dry heaves and it did and stopped pain.

No. But I was wondering about the hydrocortisone I have to take for my thyroid medications. I'm wondering if that has caused an ulcer of something. But I have been taking Aciphex 2x a day for several weeks now and that is what they give for ulcers too. I always take my hydrocortisone with food though and mostly I never take anything on an empty stomach. I don't take a lot of NSAIDs at all even with all my pains. I also don't take a lot of the hydrocort either. Many people on my other board take much more than me and they don't have these issues.

Don't know if this will shed any light on your situation, but I had been experiencing terrible bloating and some stomach discomfort (gurgling, trapped gas, pain) and couldn't figure out what the heck it was. I have just stopped using my P cream and have also lowered my dose of E and since then, I've not experienced any of these symptoms.
I have my fingers crossed hoping that it was the P causing it and nothing more sinister (had colonoscopy, endoscope done in December, all clear).
Just another reason for me to lay off the stuff.....I suspect it was the P.

I remember now ....she was given a script for proclorpizine (sp?) it stopped pain and heaving.
