Hi there,
I remember some posts from Sariah who is really knowledgeable about progesterone and estriol symptoms--if you're out there Sariah would you mind sharing what some of the bad symptoms for estriol are. I know that not all women experience estriol issues but I think I do and would love to hear from others who do to. I know that estriol and progesterone are pregnancy hormones. I am 52 years old and have never been pregnant but have heard that these two hormones can cause some women problems. Just curious. Avalina

Yah I have issues with biest which is 80% estriol feel sluggish. why? think my libido is waning also. but does wonders for Vag atrophy. seems counter intuitive.
I need to see doc and find out what is the story.

Ok Estriol is high in pregnancy. I have been pregnant 4 times. I felt sluggish only in the first couple months which went away after prenatal vitamins.
I did not feel like this when pregnant.
My skin feels softer which is like pregnancy.
I did not feel sad in preg either.
my libido was fine in preg
feel sad and no libido now from biest Very small amount

I think it is making something else out of whack. thyroid? adrenals? brain chemistry?

I don't think the experts know YET

I use b/hrt, but not estriol. From what I understand the estriol is the weakest of the 3 main hormones (estradiol, estrone and estriol). Estriol is only very high during pregancy and is rapdily excreted via urine. Any type of estrogen (be it synthetic or bhrt) does wonders for vaginal tissues - especially if locally applied. My theory is that you are getting enough to fix the vaginal atrophy but not enough to have an impact on your energy or libido. Regards, JZZ

I hope this posts I wrote but did not post.

My libido was fine and I wasn't sluggish before biest. I tried using twice a day and I was worse meaning more tired.
felt like CFS

Are you taking progesterone along with the biest? If so, maybe it's the P that is causing the problem.

There was an estriol thread posted not too long ago and Pete replied to someone's question on estriol. I seem to remember him saying that some women do have trouble with it. You could PM him about this. I have read that he is good about responding.

I have been on Estriol now for about a week and am feeling horribly. It seems to have made my depression even worse, I think. It is either that or the switch to Synthroid and I am not sure. Has anyone else had this problem with Estriol? I was doing a bit better when I was using the Estradiol but I have gone down pretty badly since using the Estriol. I know some of you have said you feel worse but was just wondering in what way you feel worse?

Even though it is the weakest estrogen it is the one that adversly affects me more than any other. I get tired, foggy headed, extremely emotional and depressed. It also kills my libido stone dead. I won't go near it!
