Little Nathan will be in my daily prayers. What an awful thing for him and his family to have to be facing.

It breaks my heart to hear of these kinds of things. Cancer is such a terrible disease and it's hard enough to hear about it with an adult. When it involves a child I just feel so much emotion. I can't imagine what his parents are feeling...as a mother myself, I would be terrified. I will keep Nathan in my prayers knowing that God and his angels are watching over him. Just as a ray of hope, I have a friend who's son was diagnosed w/ a brain tumor at the age of 3 yrs. It had spread all the way down his spine by the time they discovered it. He had three different brain surgeries and many months of chemotherapy but he is now in high school! He was left w/ some residual effects (some learning disabilities) but he is otherwise healthy and happy. He and his parents were blessed with his recovery and I'll pray that Nathan will be blessed as well.

CML,
I am so sorry to hear of your dear little friend. It's just seems so unfair in life when a child has to deal with cancer.
God Bless
Tara
He is going to have chemo for 8 mos, they will do a spinal in the 3lp lumbar and he will be in the hospital every time they do this because it take 3 days. He is also fighting diabetes insipidis from what is happening. The fluid on the ventrical in the brain has stopped and they think they have already shrunk the tumor some, YEA !! He is still in for the long haul and so is his family.
Thank you for all you kind words and prayers.

Good news that the tumour is shrinking CML. I would like to know his name as well.
Best wishes to you,
Suzanne
Nathan is his name and I think they are letting him come home for a day or so before he has to return for the three day chemo treatment, and then it is every week or so for 8 mos. He is such a strong and funny kid. There is a site called Caringbridge at the childrens hospital that helps everyone know what is going on day by day.
Thank you again for your prayers.

Oh that will be so nice for Nathan to go home for a day !!!!! My thoughts and prayers will be with you my little friend.Much love and hugs to you . I so wish I could send him a card or something . CML is there some way ? think about how happy that would make him and if all the ladies here sent a card he could be so busy and take his mind off what is really happening .Maybe a address of the hospital just in care of Nathan would work ? Let me know if some how this could be possible. Hugs cathy

Oh wait A idea ..... How about opening a po box at the post office care of Nathan then it could still be private . I would spring for the first month payment ......Let me know.... this little guy is breaking my heart and I just want to put a smile on his face if only for a few minutes .
There is a way and that is called Caringbridge.org. You can send notes to the family.
He had a tuff start with his meds the other day , allergic reaction, headaches and nausa. his father said as they entered the room to get the treatment, that it was full of children hooked to iv's and getting chemo. They had a blank stare, as if to say I wish I were anywhere but here and at that moment he and his wife faced the reality that their son had cancer.
Thank you for all your prayer for this family.

omg, CML - the visual picture you just painted about this family, omg.
i looked at the caringbridge website before i typed my last post. i typed 'nathan' into the "visit a website" area of the site, but i don't think the story that popped up about nathan was "our" nathan. how do we get to his site?

I happen to have a friend who's son dove off a pier and broke his neck on July 4th. He is a quad now and his family posts daily on Caringbridge with updates on his condition.
Anyone can go onto the site. It requires registration with an email address, but you do have to know the patient's first and last name to access the information.
I am sorry ladies, his name is Nathan Lux and the code is nathanlux, you do have to register at caringbridge.org.
Chemo is hard for anyone and I pray that he and his family continue in grace and mercy.
Thanks for caring, when on a daily basis we fight this crazy fight with our on bodies, to still have the compasion to care about someone you don't even know shows that somewhere deep down inside of each and everyone of us is the love and kindness that only a mother understands, may I say, what I meant to say is only a woman understands.

I signed up on the caringbridge website to read his daily journal ; This little guy is so brave and has been through so much. I pray everynight that he will have a better day tomorrow. He is such a handsome guy too . It breaks my heart to read the things he has to deal with on a daily routine. I didnt leave a comment for him or his family on the website because I feel like its mostly friends and family and I dont want to intrude on them being I dont personal know them but I pray for this nightmare to end so they can get on with their lives.
You know its funny because when you hear someone has cancer you know its bad and they are going through alot but until you read a daily journal (or live it yourself) you really have no idea. I get up in the morning feeling like crap and tired then read Nathan story and really feel guilty because of what him and his family are dealing with my problem seem like nothing .
Lets everyone pray Nathen can at least get a good night sleep and not just a few minutes at a time ... ((((((((Nathan)))))))
