Hi, I am 48, still menstruating, high FSH on labs. Had peri symptoms and internal shaking occasionally. Recently upped levoxyl (hypothyroidism) due to a elevated TSH to 100 mcg, started also taking 1,500 mg of vitamin c, withing one week all peri symptoms have vanished! Feel like a new woman, what in the world is PERI!

Delighted that you have found success. I have said many times that many of the worst peri symptoms are caused by a misbehaving thyroid gland. Because you have demonstrated hypothyroidism you can be treated with some confidence but many ladies do not have abnormal blood results even though they exhibit strong symptoms. That's when it gets really difficult! rolleyes.gif

I have had hypothyroidism since 1995 and have always undermedicated a bit, now it seems I need to really keep good thyroid control and take max dose of levoxyl . I have heard that in some women thyroxine can pick up the slack on low estrogen. It's really strange because after one week, instead of feeling warmer i just felt like I was really cooled down, the increased dose must have fooled my pituitary gland and possibly lowered FSH, when I added the vitamin c it was like bingo. I did some research on that and vitamin c can raise estrogen levels, also vitamin c can help parkinson's disease, something about boosting dopamine, don't people with parkinson's have visible tremors, that's why I tried the vitamin c, i figured if it could help parkinson's, why not internal tremors??????
