I recently had a transvaginal ultrasound, just a routine test to check out my uterus lining. I asked for this test because I have been using the "estrogel" alone for several months ( I had become too sensitive to the progesterone). I am on a new HMO and the new gyno is REALLY not very well informed about BHRT and was only useful as far as he actually ordered the test. I have not had a period in 9 months.
I called today and was told over the phone that all was normal! I asked "what's normal, what is the NUMBER". She said it was 6mm??? She said that is normal. Does anyone know if that is high end normal??? Or what does that mean.
Any thoughts would be comforting to me right now.
Thanks, Juliann

For a postmenopausal women on HRT, the range is up to 8 mm thickness. The range for someone not using HRT that is postmenopausal is slightly different. The range can vary a little for women who are diabetic or obese.

Thanks Ladies so much!
I appreciate the feedback, made me feel much more relaxed about the numbers. Because I am using BHRT and have been for almost 4yrs, I was a bit worried about the outcome of this test.
When I was in peri, I had some VERY heavy periods which led to a D & C procedure. I think this cleans the lining of the build up.
Again, thanks for your responses.
