Once in a while when I get up or wake up at night, I see a small circle of light, I went to the eye Dr and they saw nothing wrong, anyone else have this ?

Could it be a migraine? Maybe once a year I get a migraine aura but with no headache following...I have read that dropping estrogen can be a factor. Mine are prisms of rainbow light that last about twenty minutes, but I sometimes instead get a bright little star. Does this sound like what you have?

It's a migraine without the pain. Sometimes the light flashes etc can be followed by a migraine headache, sometimes not.
When I get the "light show", I immediately take something for pain which does tend to head off the crushing pain & makes it more bearable.
Fortunately, this doesn't happen often!

Mine are always when I am in for the night, the room is always dark or I don't think I would see them and it is just for a flash but they are in a circle and no coloror at least they are white. If I roll over in bed and maybe my eyes open for a moment. No pain and no head aches. They are strange and kind of freaky, like you said.
I have fought chest pain, palps and pinching in my chest, arm pain (of course the left), jaw pain (the left) internal shaking, night sweats, hot flashes, MOOD swings, crying jags, head aches, back aches and the feeling that I am going to die any moment and not be here to raise my kids, and alot of that was post !!!!! So this eye things is just a bump, I think !!

booky, those are occular migraines. I get them too, only I get the migraine pain too. If I take a couple of extra strength tylenol as SOON as I notice the flashing lights I can have just a normal headache, but if I can't get the pain killers into me quick enough, I am doomed to have a terrible headache.
For me there is no doubt whatsoever that these occular migraines are from too much Progesterone.

Floater and Book,
I get the occular migraines with pain also. Lord how I hate those.
CML,
I also get floaters that interfere with my vision at times and am wondering if that is what you are dealing with.
Hugs to you,
Jeaninne

I have had them for years without the major headache part, on occasion very mild not even enough for a tylenol. My start out really small white zigs zags or bursts then get bigger and bigger, it lasts for 20 minutes and then its done. I haven't had one in a while. It first happened when I was 16 and I went to an opthalmologist and he told me it was an occular migraine.
