I've no idea what the hell's going on with my feet?! I've had a sore area to the right of the right foot for about a year now... but sometimes that spreads over the foot, sometimes even up the leg or into the other foot. It's a burning, achy, tingly soreness and yes probably arthritic. I also have serious varicose veins in that leg but don't know if that's a connection.

Then sometimes my toes just feel like they've been trodden on by an elephant - no rhyme or reason to it.

And the other thing is the toes can suddenly get cold as ice, in a matter of seconds, so cold it hurts.

What the hell is going on down there? Anyone else get stuff like this?

Not sure. I have had more aches and pain in my feet in the last few years. Mostly like my toes(underside) feel bruised. Also I have had a sore spot in the arch area on my right foot.

I sit for 8hrs a day so it's not that....my butt, well that's a different gripe!

Hi CelticTigress,

Have had twice now something strange going on with my left foot, real agonising pain, almost like I imagine a break would feel like, couldn,t put any weight on it,lasted all day, then vanished.
And just recent woke up with it again after an hour of being up it too vanished!!

The pain you described though was exact pain I recently posted about except in my tailbone?? It went off but occasionally rears its head and starts tingling/sore/burning

Also went to Dr a couple of years ago as I couldn,t move my hand it went on for several days, just throbbed and hurt, again like a break, sent me for xray.... nothing wrong??

Can,t really answer your question as to why, wish I knew, just seems like we are all prone to these mysterious aches/pains. dry.gif

Hope you find some relief

P.s Fried if you read back my FIL suffers with arch pain,he finds an insole designed for pain in that area a real help, just a thought

Thanks everyone.

Today everywhere ELSE is hurting. My hands, arms, elbows, shoulders, knees, feet, legs, hips, all hot, burning aching and tingling. Just when I start to think "is there anything NOT hurting?" that part starts up.

I woke up with my hands feeling pretty OK (they are usually stiff in the morning) - had breakfast, drove to work and half an hour later CRUNCH suddenly they just cramped right up...

I really hate all this. Six months ago I was pretty normal.

I forget what it's called, but it's similar to carpal tunnel syndrome--only it involves the nerve pathways through the ankle rather than the wrist.
It could also be Morton's Neuroma.

Since acupuncture helped me with both the carpal and the Morton's, perhaps you may want to look into that for relief.

Good luck to you! It's no fun being in pain.

My grandma used to say "when your feet hurt, you hurt all over". And it's so true!

Mostly likely degenerative arthritis, tear and wear of the joints, usually starts with small joint of big toe, or ankle, etc.
i think it is a wear and tear plus hormonal ups and downs. Estrogen also keeps everything flexible, when it drops, everything stiffens up, including joints, muscle, etc.
Stiff mucles pulling on the bones, bones also get weaker, so joints gets overworked and injured, and then inflammed.
Same old story, LOL, I think it can have many causes, but heredity, age, and being athletic can mess our feet. I am in the same boat, LOL.
Best,
I.

Fried - thanks for the info, but that doesn't quite fit what I'm feeling. That sounds more like the kind of deep muscle aches you get with ME (which I've had before) and this is something new and different. But I'll keep an open mind.

When I went to my doctor, he checked if everything was in its right place (apparently it was) and I could flex my toes (I could) and dismissed it out of hand (or foot!). I had just been telling him what I had found out about menopausal arthritis, so he told me to go and google "menopausal foot". Doctors!
