I've been using Pro-Gest since March. This is my 2nd month my periods came on day 21. Prior to that I would get it every 28 days . I start on day 8 of my cycle and use 1/4t twice a day.

I'm also on estrogel 0.06% and use one pump every day.

Could I be needing a higher does of progesterone?

I just sent off my saliva testing and I'll be curious what the results will be since I did it yesterday and I started my period this moring. dry.gif

Hi:
Talking about progesterone, I feel so stupid at the moment, I started taking, what I thought was .2ml of bioidentical progesterone, did not realize there were 2 scales on the syringe. Just as well I called the pharmacy today, gyno has upped the dosage to .3ml. The only problem I was only taking .1ml as I was looking at the wrong side of the scale. The Pharmacy said it would be ok to go from .1ml to .3ml, maybe I would be more balanced my know if I had been doing it correctly. What do you think, is OK to go from .1ml to .3ml. He said it will not do be any harm.

Part of the issue with supplementing with hrt during peri is that it can cause some more issues in regard to irratic bleeding. If you are in full meno then any tweeking of your dosage can affect the withdrawal bleed (time line or amount). Many women seem to have problems with tolerating P. I would suggest calling your doc before experimenting with the dosage on your own. jmo Also its the additon and then subsequent withdrawal of P that causes the bleed if not on a continuous dosing schedule. Appears that you are dosing in a cyclical manner. If you are tolerating this dose of P (and feel ok) then maybe ask your doc about taking continuously. I don't believe in taking continuous for a variety of health reasons but that is another very long response. Regards, JZZ

I would not go from .1 to the .3ml Many women have problems on the P. Titrate your dose slowly to see how you feel. Good luck, JZZ

Rx P-cream made me bleed every 2 weeks, before that my period were at least 26 days apart. Once I stopped, my period became normal again.
Hard to figure out what gives, if you take it in cycling manner, some doctors suggest continious HRT to avoid bleeding issues, but it is better post-meno, I believe.
best of luck,
I.
