Hi Ladies,

I know this is a little bit of a hot topic as everybody has different opinions on beauty pageants. For me they were always a fun experience and gave me a chance to feel like a "movie star" for the day. Anyway as you know I made the move from Toronto to Oakville I found some of my old crowns and trophies. It got me to thinking. I did some research and found out about a local pageant system and I got to thinking that it would be great incentive to loose weight as well as make friends and have a lot of fun. The pageant is set for Feb. so it gives me lots of time to prepare. I have a gorgeous blue gown I can wear for Beauty but it's a size four YIKES!!!! blink.gif The entrance fees are quite cheap and I'm pretty much set for costumes. (As long as I loose the weight tongue.gif ) Anyway ladies I guess I am just looking for some encouragement so tell me what you think....

Thanks Ladies biggrin.gif Enjoy your day smile.gif

Hey Tara.

GO FOR IT!!!!!! I think it's cool that you have the self-confidence to compete. I've always dreamed of being "movie star" beautiful and say that in my next life I will be tall, blond, svelte and gorgeous, but I have never been comfortable with my looks. I would never have the nerve to compete in a beauty pageant, because I think everyone would laugh at me.

Is it a pageant for more ......ummmmmmm "mature" women for lack of a better word? It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. You're not hurting anyone and if it makes you happy you should definitely do it.

Good luck,

Donna

Donna,

Thank-you for the wonderful words of encouragement! Women of all shapes and sizes compete. I wouldn't call myself "movie star" beautiful but it's the wonderful feeling of being all dressed up. When your inner beauty and personality shines that's what the judges look for. Thanks again for the vote of confidence! biggrin.gif
