OK, so without researching first, which I NEVER do, I ended up purchasing elizabeth arden prevage.(long story, big discount)..anyway, now I read all this scary stuff about needing to go see a doctor and get on prednisone because of a reaction. Is this a common problem? Should I try to return it (difficult even though it's unopened) should I just use it on my arms (showing my age there also - 50!) I have never had a reaction to anything..I skin tested prevage last night on my inner arm, (sample size GWP) no rash there this morning..but the reactions reported are scary. I don't mind trying something that might not be great on me, but I don't want my face to swell up and my eyes to swell shut like some people reported on other sites...what do you think guys? Have you used this without problems and with the great results that of course the sale people promised...
thanks

Well, I think people are more likely to take the trouble to badmouth a product that has caused a problem than to praise one that they have enjoyed. I find it hard to believe that the types of reactions you've read about could be happening to large numbers of people. If your skin is not usually sensitive to products, then maybe try using just a little bit to see what happens, and then gradually use more. I remember awhile back I was a huge fan of the alpha hydroxies in various products, and then all the whiners whined about it making their skin a little red and it got pulled in favor of beta hydroxy, which doesn't work nearly as well.

I have used Prevage for over a year and LOVE it. Just ran out of it the other day and really suffering. Seems to make my skin tighter, firmer and less "tired" looking and feeling. The stories that Prevage causes strong hive like reactions are true. I read all about them on about.com last year when I first started using it.
http://beauty.about.com/od/makeuptrickstips/gr/prevage.htm It may have to do with skin type. I have "unallergenic" skin. Nothing makes me break out, I've never had hives or a reaction to a product. If your skin can tolerate it it is one of the better anti aging investment products. A book worth checking out is Dr. Denese's Secrets for Ageless Skin: Younger Skin in 8 Weeks She says antioxidant "skin stimulating" products are key. Before using Prevage I used Olay Regenerist and could not get my skin to look brighter or better. Drugstore products not stimulating enough due to not having enough potent ingredients.

If I may make a suggestion, there is a product even better than that. With no side effects. It is Swisa Beauty products, the non-surgical face lift kit. I have used it before, and you can tell after one treatment .You do it 3 times within the first 3 weeks and then once a month to maintain. If you order of Swisabeauty.com it is a little high priced. But I got a great deal on Amazon. I swear by this stuff, spending thousands and this being the only thing that made a difference. Look it up and check out their products. No....I do not sell it. I am just very hard to please, and believe when I finally find something actually good...I like to pass it on so others won't keep getting ripped off, or have bad side effects. Teri
