I just turned 41 and back in March I decided on my own to start progesterone cream for peri symptoms. I use Pro-Gest 1/4t twice a day. I also have been prescribed by my gyn Estrogel 0.06% one pump once a day. I've been on the Estrogel for about 3 months now. He first prescribed Loestrin bcp but I had a bad reaction from it and did not want to try another brand.

My rage has been getting worse and worse. It's pretty much all month long. The littlest things set me off and I feel like I'm out of control.

My gyn would not do any bloodwork since hormones fluctuate blink.gif I figured I would give the Estrogel a chance but I really don't feel a difference. I still get hot flashes through out the day and at night.

I decided to do a saliva hormone test and I'll be doing that on Monday.

If you are dealing with extreme rage, have you found anything that works? I'll try anything.

Thanks

Shugg I wish I knew, cuz I was just thinking that today. It is ovulation time for me and so far I am not ovulating which makes my mood symptoms terrible and I have been so on edge and just ugly today.Like everything just seems to piss me off, like I wanna throw a temper tantrum like a 2 year old.I really have to make a strong effort to reign in my temper...It is ridiculous mad.gif

I wish I had an answer for you. I've had every weird thing you can have but other than my impatience with my boss at work and stupid people, lol. Rage is the only thing I have not had. But, it could be because I live in a pretty peaceful home environment. My husband is so good to me I would cut my tongue out before I raged at him. I lived with an abusive guy for 12 years and been married to this gem for 4 years (and yeah lucky him he gets stuck with "Hormone Michuganna" a mere few years after marriage) there is just no way I'm losing this guy so I will smother myself with a pillow before I take out any of my angst on him. Now strangers, that is another story, lol. Also, I do hibernate a lot in my room and limit contact with the public as well. I'm not sure if the rage symptom is just lurking waiting to make a grand entrance. I do not make light of that rage feeling, I have had it but I hope I don't get it again.

I had an honest discussion with my dr. about the rage...told her i even feel like i hate my dogs at times.....she said magnesium and B vitamins can help.....

i used to have a speed bag (a lightweight punching bad) and i'd go downstairs and punch the crap at it, even if it hit me in the face, that's how bad my rage gets, yet i'm generally a likeable person, what the heck is going on? maybe cause i feel tired and pressured all the time, and just want to hide under the covers so i don't drag anyone else down, cause lately, i'm such a drag to be around sad.gif

Exercise helps... walking to the point of exhaustion!!! And get enough sleep (yeah, yeah, I can hear you laughing from here!) but seriously, if you can sneak in an extra hour by going to bed a bit earlier it does help!! :-)
