So glad to hear from those who read and respond. Lately it has been high anxiety for me. I found some ease today, mainly because I talk myself down, if that sounds right. Telling myself it is a hormone issue and that I will get through this.

When I get ready for work and get there, I notice what feels like a slow heating of my face, not so much in shoulder and neck area. This heating of my face sometimes feels as if my face is really dry, like a chapped feeling. I always use a mositurizer so I know it isn't dry. I have even asked my good friend, who works with me, if my face is red, and she tells me no, but it sure feels like it should be.

I have noticed some indigestion lately, more than I had before. I have tried to pin point a food for the cause, but haven't been successful with that, seems it comes from just about anything. Does anyone experience that as well?

I have really noticed a difference in my body shape. My tummy and hips seem to explode to massive sizes overnight. LOL. Doctor said that is a typical thing as well. Have to watch those lbs.

At night, I will awaken with a sweat that soaks my clothing, then of course, I change, but when I get back in bed, I will get very cold and experience tremors. The bed is shake, rattling and rolling, so to speak. This might happens twice a night, or not at all for a couple of weeks. Anyone else?

Hi Belinda,

Absolutely classic symptoms really.................

You are at the stage where you throw off the duvet several times per night and then freeze to death as the hot flash passes. blink.gif Just think of it as a temporary phase where your body has lost its internal thermostatic control. Do not let this type of symptom scare you as it is a normal part of the transition. Be warned that it can get a little crazy. I once counted over 60 hot flashes between 11pm and 3am which was exhausting to say the least. My serious hot flashes lasted about 3 years but everyone is unique, you may only have them for a matter of months. I used to need a fan in every room and I have slept with the fan on all night. Poor hubby; he had to go to bed in thermal underwear!
Peri menopause causes food intolerance full stop. Be very gentle with your digestive system. Cut out spicy and acidic foods and go bland until things improve.
The weight gain is often necessary to enable you to store oestrogen more effectively. Just try not to let it get out of hand.

Take care,

Ditto to all of that Belinda........I feel for you babe......

Apple cider vinegar helps me with bowel movement.......as for the digestion thing, it rarely matters what I eat, although I am not a dairy, bread, meat eater. I still get rolly guts, raw guts, flatulence, reflux, indigestion.......as long as I am not constipated or with diarrhea......that REALLY bends me.

Ahhhhh good ole hormones.....

As for hot flashes.......hot, hot, hot........cold, cold, cold!! Comes and goes in intensity.......

Take care......

Hi Belinda:

I agree with the others. You have begun the peri ride.
