Okay - here is the scoop. I am 41 and have no family history of any major issues - we are all relatively healthy physically. I do suffer from depression and anxiey and my anxiety is getting the best of me. A about a week ago I found a lump well under my skin in the perineal area (between the vagina and anus) - It is well under the skin, about 1cm in size, feels hard. Now I did go to the Dr. and she told me it was nothing to worry about at this point. I have no other symptoms - it doesn't hurt or bother me unless I poke at it for a while because I am worred about the size. Now I think the bump has actually gone down in size, but then I sit and worry thinking "has it" or am I just trying to tell myself that. And then I have myself worked up into have some type of cancer and dying in a year.
Now I realize that there is always a chance (for anyone) - I just went through a uterian biopsy since I had a thickening of the lining and that all came back just fine. Please help settle my nerves about this bump. I am going back to see the Dr. on the 26th for a medication recheck (depression/anxiety) and she said we'd check on the bump at that time if need be. She doesn't seem to worried about it - but I am!!! Help before I drive myself crazy!!

It sounds like a cyst to me,which should go away, but if you are worried call your dr and insist that she take a look. Then you can have some peace of mind.GOD-bless

Aaaah bless you,
I,m sure it,s nothing to worry about, especially with the Dr checking it out and saying it,s fine.
I do know exactly what you mean though,I too have worked myself into a frenzy over things, and its almost like your brain WILL not shut up.
I,m just sure everything will be ok
Take care and try and stop worrying

Hi Lady,
Try not to worry yourself. It could be a cyst. I have a huge one on the back of my thigh, just bellow the buttock. It does not hurt, it has been there since I was sixteen. It could also be an ingrown hair follicle. I get those, they can be small or large. If the doctor is not worried, try not to upset yourself so much. Take care and I hope that your mind will be at ease.
