Hi to you all

Went for my pelvic scan this morning and basically they have seen something. They were a bit vague - said probably a cyst but I need to see a gynaecologist and when I asked if it was serious the radiographer said she couldnt say!(help!!).

Am a total wreck now and imagining all sorts. I had a cyst on my ovaries when I had a scan 5 years ago and nobody mentioned seeing a gynaecologist. I wonder if its the same one and now I am wondering if it has progressed to something far more sinister (ovarian cancer is my biggest fear) Have made an appointment to see my doc as I feel I maybe do need some medication at the moment.

Thanks for your kind words and will keep you posted with my latest news

Sorry to read you have to go through further testing. I don't think it nec bad they want you to see a GYN--just being thorough. And techs are trained to be vague, so I wouldn't worry to much about that reaction. I'll be sending positive energy your way during this stressful time! ANd good for you for calling your doctor if meds will make your time easier. I found a little xanax helpful when I was waiting for results of a mammogram call back (fine) this spring.

Agree with other poster. I've had scans where I experienced "the vague" tech... Only the doc can formally read and give you the results. When my ovaries had stopped working (at age 45) my scan showed "multiple cysts" and the doc initially freaked. Turned out to be nothing. Now, at age 47, the "muliple cycsts" (they turned out to be normal egg follicles - sheezzz) are not considered to be an issue because my ovaries are "working" again. Seems perimenopausal status is why they looked at the same thing so very differently.... Just what happened to me. Try to relax and call the doc to ask for your results as soon as they get them in. I join the others in sending you good, calm engery. The techs are trained to be vague/not say anything - due to liability issues. I know how frustrating and scary that can be. Hang in there, Kathleent

Yup I agree techs won't tell you anything! It is not unusual at all to have to go to the doctor that ordered the test. Hang in there it is probably just some cysts again.
