AreWeThereYet?
Hi Everyone!

Today I went to the Dr. because I wanted to start a diet program. My ekg came back "borderline" and the Dr. asked me if I had tremors. I said at times I have internal tremors. Anyway, the EKG showed the tremors. Has anyone else had this?

I would show a high peak and then it looked like a small saw (zig zag) and then it would be another high point and then the zig zag again.

UGH this is just so annoying. WHY do our bodies have to go through this hell? mad.gif

Hi

What is a EKG? Is it a heart trace as I have tremors but I am not sure how they effect your heart.

It is an electro cardio gram and yes, it does trace the heart. I think the EKG was able to just pick up the vibration in my body and it was almost like static on the reading. That caused the reading to be effected.

Wow, I've never heard of this before. I guess the EKG was fine otherwise?

Well it said "borderline" because of all the "static". But she said it was OK. Who knows.

Yes we call them ECG's here to. But for some reason most people refer to them as an EKG. I don't know why. Hmmm?

Hi AreWeThere Yet smile.gif

I wanted to add my two cents... I have what is called an essential tremor and I have also been in the middle of a full blown panic attack where literally every part of me was shaking. I've never had it show on an EKG. It makes sense though, as an EKG measures electrical conductivity. It could also be a lead was in the wrong place or not fully contacted? I would be interested to know more about this if you find out anything else.

You know, the girl that did it had a hard time with the leads. She un-did and re-did several. That might be it. I am going to pick up a copy and show it to my other Dr. next Tuesday. I'll let you know what he says.

I am almost thinking that what you mentioned about the lead could be what it was. I also took a breath and it made a big hill and she said that was because I am dehydrated. Who knows. I am thinking this place might have taken one too many diet pills themselves. LOL

I'll let you know!

Thanks for the idea smile.gif

Just wondering if you ever found out what caused all your EKG weirdness?

No, I had another Dr look at it and he said he thought the leads were not done right. So I didn't get to really learn anything sad.gif Thanks for asking smile.gif

I might have! During my internal buzzing phase (through chest and down spine, like a purring cat), I had an ECG and they said they had never seen it before! Just as you described little wobbles in the reading. They said it looked like electrical interference when there was none. It freaked me out quite a bit.
As the test was otherwise normal I was dischared. I could tell they were perplexed, though!

I don't remember where you are located but if you paid for this EKG, you should either request a re-do (if you are still concerned) or not pay for it smile.gif Especially if the leads were placed incorrectly.

And just a thought... I wonder if cell phones can interrupt the scan? You know how when a cell phone is too close to a monitor sometimes it will distort the screen for a second or two? Oh well, at least your okay. That's the important thing.
