I did not find any info on here about this so I thought I would ask you all.

I have been having tingling in my gums. I have been something that feels like the beginning of chills but only on the left side of my head. I have this feeling of a heavy coating on my tongue.

New symptom? or am I finally psycho?

Thanks ya'll.

Hugs,
Jeaninne

I drink a couple of liters of water a day but lately feel like I can't get myself hydrated. Ended up in the hospital on a saline infusion in April...mouth is all off...no tingling yet though wink.gif
Any idea why we dehydrate regardless of good measures??

Ditto!!!

Now today I did have a really weird head sensation. Sitting w/a friend of mine, and we talking, all is well. Then suddenly get a weird noise my ear, and the weirdest sensation... I was also having one of those mornings from hell, you know the morning sweats, which are so so lovely down in here in good ole south florida, whereas the humidity is like 95%..... I sitting there talking to her over a cup of coffee, and the sweat is just pouring off me. Even the waitress said, you sure you want some coffee, you sure look hot...

Oh yea, get this, so I tell my friend, whose about my age, "hormones", and she just looked at me like what??? And I said to myself, oh you are one of those..... You know the lucky ones... LOL

But yes, I did get some weird mouth sensations, actually that was the 1st symptom that lead me to "perimenopause", apparently it is a common symptoms... Ahh, don't ya just gotta luv it....NOT mad.gif

Dear 'moonlight'
I think the intense flushing and sweating will always make you feel thirsty and dehydrated,
However if it seems too much over the top I would mention this to my Doctor for a check up.
There is Primrose Oil which is supposed to help with the sweats and many ladies have good results with this.
Fortunately HRT is still my friend and had helped with lots of symptoms.

All the best
Elizabeth

Hi ladies

I was at my ND the other day and explaining that I always feel thirsty despite the loads of water I drink. She told me to add 1/8 of a tsp of sea salt to my litre bottle of water. Her explanation is that we need saline to retain the water we drink and sometimes we may not get enough salt from our diet to do that. Hence the term saline drip.

Hope that helps

Maura

Hi:
I already do the sea salt, I think it does help.
But, I have a new question, don't know whether to post it here, but still not sure how to start new threads.
In the morning when I wake and after I take a nap I wake with the most horrible feeling, it scares me, takes me a while to come around. It feels like depression, but could almost be anxiety, I hate it. I know this has been posted before, i just wondered during menopause what causes that. I do take Zoloft and progesterone.
When does that eventually go away, and what really cause it.

Is there a name for it?

HI Jeaninne ..... yes, I have experienced everything you are talking about! IT's peri.... it's got to be hormonal. I get the gum thing too, and the chills AND only on the left side of my head! The tongue thing i've had many times as well .... it's really amazing how hormones can do all this!!!!

Hi Jpie ... i know how this is, whenever I wake up, whether it be from sleeping at night, or a nap I also have this anxious feeling,... sometimes it feels like depression. IT's hard to shake as well, it'll usually take me a few hours to feel like me again. This is one of the reasons why I dont end up taking a nap to often, even though I really feel tired, because I know that when i wake up, I'll start with that weird depression/anxiety feeling again. Yeah, it's hormonal, but, that doesn't lessen it's power to make you feel like junk .... so, don't worry, this is part of peri, and a lot of women here deal with the same thing .... you're not alone.

Hi,
The heavy coating on tongue could be a dry mouth symptom. I had that and still having it on and off. You may want to try Biotene mouth wash for dry mouth, find it really soothing and helpful during this period.
God bless. blessy

Jpie,
I also get that weird feeling when I wake up. Especially today. I woke up in a panic..no nightmare tho. And if I do fall asleep on the couch or even on my deck outside I get that anxiety / depression that takes forevevr to shake off. Why Why Why??????

Hi:
I know I wish someone could explain what axactly causes it, then it would not be so scary. Is it chemical, hormonal, medicine, whats happening in the body to cause that. Very uncomfortable. Does it go away eventually, if your hormones get balanced.
